Came for lunch. Several things off the menu weren’t available. What I had was nice. Very quiet for lunch time. Staff were great.
Visited on a Tuesday evening, menu choice was ok, not overly adventurous. I had the buttermilk chicken burger with cheese & chose the recommended craft ale to go with it which was a good choice. My son ordered the fish & chips & we had onion rings on the side. Overall the food tasted good but the oil in the fryer definitely needed changing as all the batter was dark brown. If we are in Portsmouth again I'd probably give it another try.
Located in an historic old building with Tudor exterior, inside is modernised with a craft beer brewery. Their ale and lager were refreshingly pleasant as you would expect from a name brand beer.
The food was typical pub fair and tasty. Their BBQ sauce and baked beans are delicious. The burgers are tasty and filling. The roasted chicken with various rubs are grand and the white meat was tender.
The atmosphere is nice, but you forget you’re in an historic building. It conveniently located near the university. And, it can get loud when busy. But, it’s a splendid place early in the evening for a nice tea / supper.
This was the first we had visited a Brewhouse & Kitchen establishment and we were very impressed with the Portsmouth Guildhall one.
There was a nice vibe around the place and all the staff provide excellent customer service.
We all agreed that The Brewer’s IPA Battered Fish & Chips was the nicest fish we could remember having in a pub.
However as my Mum says there’s Always Room for Improvement so could you make the plates bigger next time 😉
We visited for the Brewing Experince day and it was fantastic. Arrived at 10am and within an hour we had started the brewing process, had breakfast and was given our first of 9 beers of the day. All 9 beers were completely different and at the end of the day we could pick a 10th beer aswell as take home a 5l keg of our choice.
The brewer, Olly, was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly loved what he was doing.
We were given food at lunchtime which we got to choose ourselves from the lunch menu. The quality of the food was excellent.
Overall would absolutely recommend if you are a beer lover.
Georgia was brilliant, knowledge, friendly and fun.
The gin tasting was informative, and fun, and you can drink!
I not only recommend it, but will be coming back for more. 2 hour drive is well worth it.
If your not in to gin, try their beers pretty bloody good.

We booked a lunch before a Graduation ceremony. The numbers changed a few weeks before the booking, but this proved no problem. Very efficient booking system. The staff in the bar could not have been more efficient and friendly. One girl was also to graduate the same week and gave us useful information directing us to pick up the gown and other things. So well done Brewhouse Portsmouth - your staff are a credit to you. Food tasty and hot and all as ordered
We had one of Brewhouse’s gin tasting experiences with a meal included. Lovely space, great food. Georgia was a fantastic host and talked us through the history of gin and explained the different types of gin in a clear, informative but most importantly fun and engaging way. Would definitely recommend!
This place is so cozy and relaxing! The owner spent a lot of time last year making this place shine and it shows. They also have board games so if you want to grab a drink and play a game or two with friends, this is a perfect place.
The food was wonderful and had a nice variety (especially for this vegetarian). They have a deal on the smaller plates on the weekdays for 3 plates for 15. It’s a good fix to add food to drink. I recommend the halloumi fries, the sauce it comes with is so good.
The service is efficient and quick. Every member of the staff I interacted with was ready with recommendations and fast service.
They have a gin tasting class that looks very interesting and a brewery tour.
Recommendation: Yes, absolutely. Down to earth place that looks super nice and has a rooftop area.
