The Golden Curry - Portsmouth - Photo album

Tried this curry house on Saturday and was very impressed. Loved the vegetarian Thali as got to try lots of smaller dishes. Also were very accommodating when I asked to swap one of the dishes. Food was delicious and service friendly and attentive. BIG portions and very reasonably priced for food and
Phenomenal curry. Went to the theatre and had a delicious meal afterwards. No corkage on wine so we took our own. Salim the owner was friendly kind and full of recommendations on the menu. I can honestly say this is one of the best curry spots I’ve ever been to and I will be back soon. Thank you guy
Having had a stressful journey leading me to miss my ferry and have to wait two hours for the next one, they were really helpful despite it being late and organised a taxi to bring me a delivery! Really turned my day around, was delicious and very quick delivery
Amazing curry/restaurant... been going since I was 10yrs old and 52 now !!! Very clean curry and chicken is lovely, chips more like roast potatoes gorgeous... Salem keep up the good work it's very much appreciated.. Mandie and family xxx
Still the best Curry in town, been living away for years it still stands out from the others especially got originality, I mean it has been around for 42 odd years… I get the chicken Pasanda or madras and a chicken chat to start off with, I guarantee you it steps out from the usual curry house.
Really good food and superb customer service. Especially for repeat customers. I would recommend this place to everyone from just a bite to eat to a family get together. The only downside to eating here is that it is a cash-only place, so leave your cards at home or stop by an atm before arriving.
Ordered online and picked it up 20 mins later. Never eaten there, but after my takeaway tonight I highly recommend, very nice meal. Only a small restaurant but even at 7PM it was half full.
First time we have been there as not from Pompey. Great curry house, very friendly staff good food, good prices and a nice little touch at the end with free Bailey's for us.
Amazing food and service lovely friendly staff nothing is too much trouble.. catered for our 7 year old ... For 3 generations we have been using this restaurant and always feel special when we visit .

We used to frequent this curry house when it was called Shariffs and the manager was called George. My favourite curry was Chicken Pathia and although in South Milford the Cumin Lounge does a very good Pathia none ever matched Shariffs until today. We met Ali who made us very welcome and told us tha
Best place for a curry. Use real spices not the bouillon use in many other curry houses. Tried many restaurants and this is still the best. The staff are friendly and efficient and most of the clientel have been comming for years.
If you like a proper Indian meal with carefully applied spices, this is one of the most understated restaurants in Southsea. Simple tables but never a disappointment.
My family have used this restaurant for decades and I highly recommend it for a good old fashioned curry. I ordered a garlic chili chicken and it was great.
Excellent food friendly staff take your own drink if u like wat more fo u want 10 out of 10
