We were in town visiting and got takeout from La Carreta. We loved everything we got - nachos, chimichangas, burritos. In particular the grilled veggie taco salad was the best taco salad I've ever had! Highly recommended!

The inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Service was fast and very kind and sweet. The food itself was amazing. The chicken was tender and delicious. For the amount of food I got the price was quite reasonable. Definitely will be returning and recommended others to come as well!

Good Mexican fare - chips and solid salsa come out quickly, the menu is fine, nothing too creative, but solid, well executed. Beans were just beans, rice was OK, a bit more effort to make things hum (hard during covid, I know) would make this really sing!

Indoor seating is comfy and service is quick and friendly. The food is on par with some of the best quality Mexican food I've eaten.

Food is OK. They do the chips and salsa well. More so Texas style. I got the chicken supreme nachos and the chicken was chewy. Coming from San Diego the Mexican food is not comparable. I have spent over a decade in Latin America (yes nachos are an American invention). For chips and salsa it's good, the queso is also really good! Even though it lacks authenticity (or at least they can get away with it here) it is still a nice set up. I have not visited to many Mexican restaurants here, but glad the blue agave was shutting down. They claimed California Mexican food but it was terrible and the staff was snooty.

First time at this location. If you are in the mood for better than average Mexican food La Carreta is hard pressed to be beat. Chips are hot 99% of the time, salsa is almost always fresh and tasty. Food is well priced, portions are good. Waitstaff is attentive. All and all a sure bet.

Great Mexican food , and i am also from San Diego and I'm very picky about my Mexican food the heuvos rancheros were absolutely delicious !!
