The Valley Inn Restaurant

The decor is very confused. Its like a creepy basement with signs about wine. The live music was too loud for such a small restaurant. Food was underwhelming for the price. They start off with bread which is inedible. The stuffie is actually pretty good. Soup was nothing great. The kale soup was spicy yet gritty and the French onion was just okay. The vodka penne was bland. The filet mignon was small for the price and underwhelming. Overall it was boring, old and loud. I wouldn't return.

I passes by this establishment a couple of times and I said I have to visit and I eat at it. Finally I did yesturday. Friendly staff with a very friendly and well mannered owner. We loved the atmosphere. Also there was some live music. Basically lovely atmosphere. We had some great food. All the way from the appetizers to the main courses. For a an appetizer, we had the littlenecks. It was cooked with onion and some sausages. It was very delicious. The sausages added some salty taste to it that when combined with littlenecks gave the ultimate taste. For the main course, we had fruti de mare ( a mix of seafood with pasta). It was a nice portion and very tasty. I would be glad to eat it one day again soon. Also we had the salmon. It came with mashed potatos and asparagus. Our food orders were simply perfect. Sadly, the restaurant’s food is a bit overpriced or else i would visit on weekly basis. Now I ll visit only on special occasions.

Very nice restaurant located in between Middletown proper and Portsmouth RI. We had the full spread of food; appetizers, main course and dessert. First and foremost the food is fantastic, very well prepared and delicious! The only reason I didn’t give Valley Inn five stars is because it took awhile for the food to come out to us (40 min for each course) when the restaurant was only moderately busy on a weekday. Highly recommend!
