Super meal, restaurant was very quiet which is a shame for the staff as its a lovely little place, food was great service excellent couldn't really fault it. Will be visiting again soon, the garlic bread bloomer from specials menu for a starter was superb
Ah, what a delightful establishment is Butley Ash! Tucked away gracefully along London Road in the charming hamlet of Prestbury, this wondrous pub and restaurant exudes an air of utmost coziness and British tradition. My esteemed companion and I had the utmost pleasure of partaking in its hospitality, and I must say, our experience was nothing short of splendid.
Upon stepping through the inviting doors, we were instantly enveloped in the warm embrace of a bygone era, for the interior was bedecked in the most splendid British antique style. A true feast for the eyes, indeed! And speaking of feasts, our palates were treated to an exquisite repast that still lingers in my memories.
Ah, the dishes we selected were a symphony of flavors! Two bowls of comforting soup, to start, exuded a homely charm that was most endearing. And the pièce de résistance, the classic fish and chips dish, was an absolute triumph! Each morsel was a testament to the culinary prowess of the talented kitchen.
But let us not forget the impeccable service, for it is the heart and soul of any establishment. Our esteemed young waiter, Mr. 'J,' deserves the highest praise. With a beaming smile and gracious demeanor, he guided us through the menu with the utmost finesse, offering his most esteemed recommendations. Such thoughtful attention to detail elevated the entire experience, and we were simply enchanted by his amiable nature.
Indeed, our visit to Butley Ash was an enchanting affair, one that left an indelible mark upon our hearts. I wholeheartedly endorse this charming establishment to all who seek a taste of quintessential British culinary delights, accompanied by top-notch service. The memories of our visit linger fondly, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is an absolute must-visit, and I shall undoubtedly return with great anticipation.

Absolutely superb!! The food and service from Charlie and Issy was perfect and the pub itself was very cozy and friendly. It is now my new favorite pub. Plus the meal deal in the week is outstanding value especially in these times. They are very dog friendly and my dog Fluff loved it in there!
Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Staff were very attentive and drinks and food came quickly. Sunday beef was really tasty.
Very nice. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Good food and drink. 👌
Had an OK Sunday lunch here - but we've been before, and the portion sizes have definitely reduced - especially the amount of vegetables.
Bit disappointed that like many other places, the vegetarian option for a roast is so different to a 'proper' one - all I want is a nice roast (with all the trimmings) but no meat rather than a special meal with important bits missing (no Yorkshire pud for example).
Turned up without a booking for a friend's birthday, on a Friday night. The staff were really nice and polite and had no issue squeezing us in. Wish I got a picture but the food was amazing!! BEST pork belly I've ever had. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend a visit.
Visited here for the first time since before covid. Last time wasn’t a great experience but this time was excellent!
Food was great and good value for money. I have a couple of allergies so the staff checked with Chef before I ordered.
Francesca, Issy and Charlie were excellent - attentive but not overly so, and observant, I was offered another drink when my first was running low.
We had such a great meal and visit, we have booked again for next weekend and are taking family with us
The food was amazing we got the chef's sharing boars to start and I got the and my husband got the wild boar burger, they were all beautiful. The service was second to none especially Francesca, she was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. What a great meal/evening we had, and if we ever come back to Bollington we would definitely eat here again!!
Firstly I would like to start by saying Francesca was fabulous and is a genuine asset to this venue. I have multiple hospitality venues myself so know how it can be sometimes finding well mannered, polite staff members. Francesca’s attitude and body posture is just outstanding in my opinion. She made our experience that something else. My only comment would be this venue NEEDS a “tip staff option” if only taking card payments. As this is an incentive to all hospitality workers, which they also well right deserve. Highly recommend!
Eleanor was also working but didn’t serve us so I cannot comment on her customer service but what I can comment on is her body posture also outstanding and also looked very smart.
I had not visited here for a long time. Will definitely return, the food was excellent, much better than expected as I think it is part of a pub chain. Really enjoyed my time here with friends. Prices reasonable and staff very pleasant.
Got served by the lovely Charlie and Immy tonight at the Butley Ash. Impeccable service from beginning to end. So friendly and doing everything to make us feel comfortable after a hard day at work. ❤️ food was fab too!
On entering, greeted with a warm smile. Enthusiastic when explaining the specials available which nearly had me changing my mind from the steak I had come in for with my Son Ethan.
But I held fast and we both had the sirloin, which was an excellent decision as it transpired but I was still left wondering about the lobster tail she so nearly had me salivating for.
Ah well a good excuse to return and sample their fare and extremely pleasant surroundings, a well kept old British pub tasteful decorated and local images framed and displayed throughout even one of a fine incurred in 1925 which I found fascinating.
Lovely food at a reasonable price. Would have rated 5 stars but I had set my sights on the mushroom and ale pie to be told they weren't serving it today due to issues from the supplier. Disappointing as there are limited vegetarian options and no alternative was offered, even the specials weren't vegetarian. So, opted for the chickpea curry instead which was tasty but wouldn't be my usual choice. Other half enjoyed his mixed grill. We'll be back to try the mushroom pie! Impeccable service from all the staff, Francesca was delightful.
Really lovely pub, food was amazing and staff are very friendly. Services was nice and quick too!
Went here to celebrate a friends birthday. Food was really nice, the Sunday roast was delays portions were of good size.
The reason I only gave 4 stars was the service was quite slow and there were not packed either. I waited least 20 minutes to remind the staff I'd ordered a drink. To be fair he did knock the drink off the bill but I do feel it was a long time to wait, no one else behind bar, and it was only a bottle a lemonade.
We will go back aa food is very nice. Atmosphere is nice too
Nice place and great food, but the staff need to pay a bit more attention. Things were forgotten, and other staff had to pick up the slack.
We'll go back, but if this happens again, it will be the last
Long wet walk up Teggs Nose 4 grand boys, 1 daughter, a dog and me. Children's menu and dogs welcome, designated area with tile floor but not outside in the rain. Cheerful pleasant staff, one big problem NO chicken available but we got over that hurdle. No offers on and an expensive treat but enjoyed.
