Popped in for some dinner around 5pm on a Thursday before I had to drive home from a business visit. The pub was empty so I got served straight away and chose my seat by the window. The food arrived quickly and all I can say is that it was fantastic. I had the salt and pepper calamari with the chorizo seasoning to start. The calamari was cooked extremely well and the chipotle mayonnaise was the perfect accompaniment. Beef and mushroom pie with mash and veg for the main course. Lovely puff pastry and large chunks of beef in the pie. I really couldn't fault the food and the only problem I had was that it is 180 miles from my house as I would like to visit again �
Love this place, the garlic flatbread is amazing. Been here twice, first time had a sharing platter with my husband, it was excellent. Yesterday I took my daughter, I had a ham and cheese melt, she had hunters chicken. Both meals were superb. We sat by an open fire, delicious food, quaint pub atmosphere, can't wait to visit again.
Omg amazing place. Best food we've had in ages. The 3 course menu is great value and the food is out of this world. We were seated straight away and never felt ignored or that we were rushed. Lovely staff and atmosphere. We will be back.

To say you went above and beyond throughout the whole planning process and on the day is an understatement, helping set up every detail (just how I asked 😅)
Although you had never hosted a wedding before I am confident I speak for each of our guests in saying you wouldn’t have known! You were all honestly amazing and made our day! Everyone complimented the service, both the main meal and evening food which was delicious and good hearty autumn food just as we wanted 🍁🍂 the venue looked beautiful and fit my autumn theme perfectly with the oak beams and oldy worldy feel 🥰
We will be forever grateful to you ~ not only did my husband & I meet at Broughton Inn, we also got engaged there and now, thanks to you, we can say we spent our wedding day there too! We can’t wait to visit our padlock table soon ❤️💍🔒

The staff were very friendly and the service was swift but not in your face.
The food was delicious and the portions were large.
I opted for the hot drink/ micro sweet option to finish.
I had the crumble which again was superb, and it definitely wasn't micro!!
All in all, a very satisfying experience and we will definitely call again when we are in this part of the country.

The staff are lovely and welcoming here, the food has always been tasty, warm, and delightful every time I've been here, and good value for money, which is great as a student. They are also very allergy friendly when I order food and make notes for the kitchen to keep my food away from allergens, so I won't have a reaction. The loyalty card scheme also means that I can gain points to later use.
The staff are very accommodating of my hidden disabilities, assisting me with my orders when needed, being understanding of the fact that I sometimes put my drinks from the bar into my bottle (as mobility and pain reasons it is easier holding my bottle than a glass and using a straw sometimes, as well as prevents any accidental breakages) and allowing me to order my food to be held off being made until a specific time so I can take medications. I also love the fact that there is Wi-Fi available to guests as it means that I can do my university coursework and research here as a remote learner, in a cozy environment instead of a busy university library or my flat.
I would have rated 5 stars, however sometimes there is loud swearing from other patrons at the bar and I have sometimes heard patrons being offensive about some members of staff which can be off putting sadly and makes me feel bad for the staff, though it doesn't seem to put them off work as they still treat them in a positive manner and all guests the same.
All in all I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a meal or a drink out, as well as a place for students such as myself to work whilst doing so

Very attractive interior with stylish wooden floors and wall architecture. Cosy ambiance created by subtle lighting. Warm inside with the odd open fireplace here and there. Some of the upholstered chairs could do with some work as uncomfortable for people with mobility issues.
Large Sunday roast dinners better than the average pub roast including the Toby Carvery! Fish, meat, veg and vegan options on the menu. Not cheap though quality never comes cheap.
The restaurant area is through the bar area and can host large groups. Smaller tables in the bar area just as nice.
Staff are attentive and welcoming.
The toilets are nicely presented, the ladies had a very nice aroma on entering!
We had the soup of the day, vegan veg with lightly toasted sourdough bread with triple-cooked chips on the side. The meat burger was reported as very good came with triple-cooked chips.
Recommended we will come back.
Perhaps you could remove the outside furnishings from the 2nd if only two blue badge spaces?
Outside seating needs some TLC.

The mismatched tables hint at the unique character of this lovely British pub. It is a must visit and within walking distance of the Marriott Delta Hotel. Don't let a little rain dissuade you from the stroll. The food is delicious, especially the calamari and the beef pie. The entire table raved about the food. Several dishes were sold out, but with so many excellent choices, you will not be disappointed.
We asked for a specific table over the phone and were advised that was fine however when we walked in, the table was already taken. We mentioned this to the waitress who informed us they had also booked the same table and as they were in before us, they got the table first. We were given another table, the waitress took our drink order and food order at the same time and we were sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for drinks, we had to chase this up to be told the drinks order hadn’t gone through to the bar! We eventually got our drinks however the service wasn’t as good as previous times, we were disappointed with the evening to be honest.
Excellent food. Steak was done just right. Chips nice and crispy. Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable large table for our group of three. Great character wooden rafters and general decor. Good parking.
Surely this more rank top amongst meals I've ever had . Great dishes which felt like they have been made with love , generous portions, amazing presentation, great atmosphere. Tables, menus, furniture a bit greasy , might just need someone to clean properly between patrons . But a definite recommendation
