Review The Crown Inn - Pulham Market

Christina Mellor-Allen
After passing this place many times we decided to stop on the spur of the moment. The Crown is very understated outside - no signs or billboards. We opened the door and wow! it was a perfect scene of a thriving country pub. There were lots of groups on the comfy sofas and chairs. As it was past 8pm and we hadn't booked we asked if we could eat. Lovely response "yes, of course-would you like a drink while we prepare your table?" A little later we were shown into the restaurant and had an delicious, interesting meal - including both having a mackerel starter and I had venison to follow. All served with a smile. We will definitely return

Fabulous historic pub in a beautiful village setting. Very welcoming on arrival. Delicious Sunday roast options. We had 3 courses, all were very tasty and generous portions. When in the area again will definitely pop back.

We had the best meal at the Crown Inn today - I was excited to go here as I heard they were dog friendly and do the best doggy roast. 6 of us went with one dog and had the most amazing Sunday lunch. The vegan options were brilliant and every single one of us was more than happy with our meal. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted amazing! The service is brilliant and overall it’s a lovely place to go and dine. Our dog absolutely loved his roast. We will definitely be coming back here. I highly recommend this place. Thank you.

In village to catch up with my auntie Joan and we popped to the crown for a bite to eat. What a treat. Is there a better example of the classic English country pub ..? Roaring fire, lovely staff, proper local clientele, excellent food and drink and cutest pub dog too... Nice to meet and chat to new owner / landlady Lucy aswell. We'll definitely be back soon....

A lovely friendly pub with great food. We have eaten here twice now, and each time, the food has been fabulous. This time I had the vension, and hubby had a ribeye. Both were very tasty and plentiful. We will definitely be back.

Very friendly atmosphere. Great service and delicious food. The staff were very friendly and we felt comfortable and at home as soon as we walked in. The food was cooked beautifully, and deserts were amazing.

Came here for a belated birthday meal and was really pleased with the whole experience (it's a beautiful pub/restaurant, set in the very pleasant surroundings of a picturesque Norfolk village). We had the chicken supreme with wild mushroom risotto followed by creme brulé and biscoff cheesecake all of which was amazingly delicious, the wine and beer which we had was also very good. This place deffinetly warrants a return visit

Went for dinner with my family and was very impressed with both the food and the service with the added bonus of the pub itself being lovely and quaint with its decorations and log burning fires. 3 of us got starters, a goats cheese and pesto salad and two shrimp and chorizo on bread with Chili jam. I’m a pescatarian but because all the food is made fresh to order I could ask for mine to have no chorizo, which was a lovely surprise as not many places are so accommodating! And it was delicious too, lovely big prawns. For mains I went for the beetroot risotto with sweet potato, which was delicious, my brother got the burger and my Parents made the most of the two steak meals for £20 and neither could finish their whole plate because was such a generous portion but they both said it was great. Me and my dad shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was another big portion and that’s always amazing because nothing worse than a small dessert! With everyone having the equivalent of two courses each along with a bottle of wine and some other drinks, the bill wasn’t even near £100 so everything was very reasonably priced and would definitely come back to try more things on the menu and would recommend it to anyone who asked! I hear they’re doing a pizza night on Fridays now so I think that will be our next visit

Had a lovely meal, food was enjoyable, but service was not as polished as it should be, no dessert cutlery, no condiments, had to ask about wine list and specials board. Custard pot was laughable, size of a thimble.

Lovely pub, great decor and friendly helpful staff. Spent an afternoon enjoying the atmosphere and just missed lunch time. Not to worry will be back to indulge as it all looked very nice. Would recommend.

It's not often you can call a pub on Sunday at 3 and ask for a table at 4 for 13 people...we did that today at the crown Inn pulham market and can honestly say Lucy and the team delivered spot on food and hospitality from the get go.. so lucky to have such a great pub in our village... Will definitely visit again (probably Friday after work 😄)

Friendly staff, well kept ales and a choice of comfortable dining spaces. Went for Sunday lunch... fantastic range of vegetables and prepared really thoughtfully.

A very old but quaint country pub. I could envisage my ancestors enjoying the sloping walls and ceilings. We only had a coffee, but the menu looked good. It was popular on a cold lunch time in early April, so would probably book for food at busiest times.

Popped in while driving through for a last minute Sunday Roast. Went for the "Trio of Meats" option - it was fantastic, well worth a visit. Lovely atmosphere and cosy feel inside.

Absolutely perfect, wonderful food, staff and location....A new find for us. Heard how excellent it was and it didn't disappoint. The Menu was very exciting. We've got lots more to try. Will be back multiple times. Thank you.

Always a top pub/restaurant, food is amazing and beautifully presented, menu changes all the time so we’ll never get bored of it, and the staff are always very helpful. Super dog friendly and there’s a part of the restaurant that’s dog friendly too. The doggy meals they do always disappear fast so they must be good! Our favourite pub to eat at in the area

Beautiful pub overlooking the village green. Great food served every day and a good range of well kept ales. The arrival of a new chef a few months ago has delivered the consistency and quality that was lacking at times.
