Sprouts Inn

We didn't have wait long before being seated. Our waitress was right there after we sat down. She took our drink order and was right back. She gave us ample time to look at the menu. She was back and took our order. Our order was to us in about 20 minutes and the food was really good and hot. I recommend Sprouts o eat at.

This is a must go-to place when I visit Quincy. While everything is good from the breakfasts to the pies, if it’s lunchtime. I’m getting the beef and mashed potatoes and it has NEVER disappointed me. This was a childhood favorite from a diner in our Albany Park Chicago neighborhood. Afterwards, indulge in a slice of delicious pie. Cherry ala mode is my favorite but there isn’t a mediocre one in the place. The restaurant is spacious with plentiful seating and parking. The staff is friendly and efficient. Everything is clean so you feel good about their protocols.

Joined 2 of my brothers and my parents for my Dad's birthday dinner at Sprout's - one of my parent's favorite restaurants. Nine of us arrived at 6PM. Dad, and one brother got their meals at 7:15. My wife got half(!) of her meal. My sister-in-law canceled her order at this point. Nearly 10 minutes later Mom and my brother's friend and child got their food; along with my sister-in-law who the waitress told she "canceled but the food was already in the window." (Not sure why it took 10 minutes to get to the table if it was already ready.) Shortly after, my other brother got his food, and mine finally arrived at the table at 7:45. Cold. And a full THIRTY MINUTES after the first meals arrived. The manager(?) came out and said she spoke with the owner and all she could do was apologize for the trouble and gave one brother a gift certificate. There were FOUR checks... not sure how we're supposed to split a gift certificate 4 ways! And yes, the canceled and uneaten meal was still charged for. As much as I'd like to say this was an isolated incident, I can't. The table behind us had the same horrible experience. Guess where I'm NOT going next month for Mom's birthday dinner?

Great restaurant the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is very friendly. The breaded pork tenderloin sandwich is very good paired with a good glass of wine, I recommend the cellar 8 it's a Pinot Noir and pairs great with chicken. The desserts are great the pie is fresh and delicious but when they sell out they sell out and the ice cream is delicious also especially the strawberry.
