Lovely Hotel , Brilliant food and really friendly staff, spent our honeymoon there and had a bright and airy room with lovely views across the estuary. If your in that area of the lakes would highly recommend the Pennington hotel

Ended up here because there was nowhere else open between trains even though the two other pub websites said they were open and thank God they were closed as I would not have found this great bar. Very comfortable and great real ale

We called on spec for lunch with our husky. We sat in a beautiful lounge area near the bar. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They even brought a bowl of water for our dog. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. It was perfectly and freshly cooked. The cost was very reasonable for what we had. The hotel, bar, dining room and outside area where spotlessly clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend the Pennington and would 100% go there again if we were in the area.

Only went for food and drinks. Friendly service and our waitress was willing to go above and beyond to ensure excellent service and that every member of our table was happy. Is one of about 3 pubs / inns in the area. On somewhat of the pricier end, but to be expected (let’s not kid ourselves with it being the lakes). I ordered the Pennington stacker and it was large. Sides and coleslaw were generous and well cooked, complimenting the burger. All other dishes were commended by other members of the table. Would definitely be back when returning to the area!

What a find! Stayed over as we planned to do the steam train next day; We loved everything about this place. Lovely and modern, scrupulously clean, very friendly staff and superb food, at extremely good value for money. Slept so soundly! Will definitely be back

Didn't stay here, but had dinner here mainly because the dairy free menu suited one of my lactose-intolerant friends. Food was very nice indeed, I will definitely come back.

What a hidden gem. We stayed for 1 night and also took our 2 dogs. We had a lovely view of the estery. Although our room was at the front, we slept with our window open and not heard a peep! What a beautiful quiet location. The room was spacious with a very large bed, tea/coffee facilities. There is a large grass area just across the road so you don't have to go far to take the dogs for a walk. It would've been nice to have a fan in the room as it was quite a hot sticky night and also some information in the room regarding breakfast/the restaurant options. We would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area again.

A nice place to start or end the Roman Ruins walk in Ravenglass. The hotel lounge has a nice bar with good coffees, fine service and a decent beer selection. Nice patio. Cozy inside. We didn't stay here so I can't speak to the rooms.

The pennington is a fine place for family's couples, and for me, work twice a year. So, I've been using it hotel for 4 years. Why 5 star. The location is perfect and right next to the estuary . Plenty of trails and next to the ratty train and castle, which is 2 minutes by car. The hotel is clean and the staff always go out there way to make your stay special. Nice rooms , free parking at the back, and a disabled entrance at the back. Resturant serves lovely food and is very reasonably priced . A bar and 2 dining areas and a downstairs toilets too. Internet and kettle in rooms with choice of hot drinks. Very quiet at night and peaceful. For those who wish to experience the night sky on a clear day at night is incredibly and track 2 minutes from railway really gives you a fine views . Thanks guys

We had dinner here twice whilst staying nearby. Food was lovely, my husband said the sausage and mash was the best he ever had. The staff were very friendly and gave great service despite having a couple of large groups in.

Arrived at the hotel and welcomed. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, tv and tea and coffee facilities in the room. The shower was lovely. Food excellent and a good price. The staff were brilliant. We booked The Pennington Hotel after reading reviews we weren't let down. Hotel is really handy for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
