A popular hangout, usually very crowded on the weekends (expect a 20 minute wait on a Friday/Saturday night) and also famous for their Happy Hour, Las Iguanas seems to offer something for everyone.
Their nachos are possibly the best in town- served with just the right amounts of cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. This one is a favorite, and you'll usually see most tables ordering it.
The patatas bravas are my second favorite thing on the menu - they're simply bite-size potatoes with just the right amount of spice - and served with creamy dip.
This time, we tried the taco sharing platter - its creative, you are given the tortillas and all the fillings (there's about 6 choices on the menu to select from) and you can make it however you like. My favorite filling was the mushrooms, although they were very oily. The butternut squash and chickpea filling was strictly okay - it was too tomato-ey and had the consistency of salsa, which was a bit repetitive since we already had the nachos (😄).
For the mains, the enchilada was delicious, served with rice and black beans. The chicken burrito was not as good as expected, and lacking in flavor. Same goes for the veggie chilli.
Although the mains were rather hit and miss, this is still a place high on my list. Do check it out 😄
Still scores highly as one of my favourite restaurants in Reading. Friendly staff, atmosphere is always full of energy. Some nights live music is played with adds the energy even more. Great place to go for cocktails with their happy hour on throughout most of the week. Food is good and would recommend their Lunch deal they do which consists of cheaper meal prices. Definitely worth the money.
Great food and fab cocktails!. This place always seems busy so always has a good atmosphere. The menu is huge and the prices are quite reasonable. There is a good selection of cocktails and these are excellent value for money, especially during Happy Hour
Lovely lady looking after us. The food was nice. The restaurant could give more fondue cheese in the bowl. The minus was it was cold inside even the people table next to us made the same comment. Really fast delivery.
Went for family lunch in Oracle Reading. The enchiladas are the best. We also tried burritos, burgers and fajitas. Great choice of cocktails and 241 is a bonus. Good choices of beers as well.

I had the calamari for my starter and I had never had it in this way before. A light dish and it packs a punch in flavour and a kick in spice . The balance of flavour was amazing. My Gaucho steak could have been better because I did ask for medium rare , it was like well done. I had a Mexican cortado to finish and that was perfect. Our waitress was fantastic . The staff were friendly , efficient and fantastic too . We had a wonderful time with the atmosphere being perfect too I would recommend the cocktails too
Absolutely amazing, had the BEST service from Marta, so kind, so down to earth and took great care of us. Honestly even as a person that works in hospitality, she is one of the most amazing servers I have ever had! As for the bar team and other servers working, they were also incredible, great drinks, great atmosphere, 10/10
Went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Loved the 2 for 1 cocktails, and the food was delicious. The only thing I can fault is the music being too loud - I quite struggled to hear those at the table around me.
Can't wait to go back! Did the bottomless brunch plus extra few bits. Marta was lovely and explained how she would help us get the most out of the 2hrs we had. We had every drink except one, and worked out our faves and what were too bitter for us. She added on 3 cocktails each even after our time had finished! Above and beyond service and, as expected, amazing food 😋

It was good in Las Iguanas but we were sat right in front of the servery which was really hot! We had been seated for quite a while before we had our drinks order taken and we weren't asked again if we wanted any more drinks. We he 2 for 1 cocktails is great, we ended up getting two different jugs for our group but then had to wait for glasses to be brought to drink them. The food was really good though, I had the Brazilian Fried Chicken which was really tasty but VERY spicy! Sweet Potato Fries which were yummy and the Sweet Pickled Slaw. All was very good and generous portion sizes! I then had the Three Churros with Dulce De Leche, they were really tasty but the sauce was very sickly so you don't need much. I also tried the Tres Leches Cake, it was very soggy but tasty with a good amount of berries and meringue on top. The cocktails we had were Huana Party which was very fruity and so good! Pinkberry Collins which was good but very sweet! Finished off with the classic Pina Colada, which was served with a chunk of pineapple, was so creamy and moreish. All were part of the 2 for 1 deal. I am very much looking forward to going there again! The children's menu is good too, with a limited amount of choices from the adult menu at half price or less. Children are allowed at all times unlike some places in Reading that say only up to 5pm etc.

We had the Cuban sandwich, a Copacabana burger and a children's meal, a couple of drinks and dessert for under £70

Good presentation, good portions and very tasty.
Servers may need reminding to bring you some cutlery!
Wednesday lunch time work leaving party for 9 of us … and it was great .
The menus is extensive and you can be as bad or as good as you like .
If you like spice , ask for the extra hot chilli sauce ! Love sweet heat , for the brave only though .
Really good service and the food was well cooked and generous . Could not fault it , especially as I’d recently paid the same price for a Sunday roast out for 6 at a pub in cookham !!
Delicious preparations. I just wish that they increase the Salad quantity !!
