Workhouse Coffee Company - Reading - Photo album

Lovely independent coffee shop, nicely designed inside for seating and watching people go by. Food looks nice (didn't have any) and coffee was excellent. Staff inside (probably owner, didn't ask) was super attentive and talkative, made to feel welcome. Nice to have at this end of Reading. 4 star onl
I absolutely love visiting your coffee shop! The warm and inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to start our day. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, creating the most delightful coffee drinks. I can’t wait to come back for more delicious coffee and a relaxing time. Definitely bette
The original Workhouse Coffee located on Oxford Road. Quite a small place and very rustic. Service was quick and prices were competitive. No cakes were available when I visited.
Very nice coffee served here however better for take out as seating is very limited and basic. They sell an excellent range of beans which they can grind for you. No toilet here.
It's quite cold (on an April morning), and theres not a lot of electrical sockets. But this place is all about the coffee, which is great! The music is not too overpowering. The food is good. Tucked away in Reading, not far from the station, this is an excellent find.
Had a great flat white and a croissant today....member of staff was one of the nicest people I've met. Great stuff.
The best coffee in Reading. This is the original branch, with friendly staff and occasional coffee events. It's smaller than in town and usually closes by lunch. Food options are also smaller than the central cafe, but I love walking to this one on a Saturday morning for coffee and a pastry. 4 stars
This place is a real gem! We travelled the world and had loads and different types of coffee and I must admit, Kirsty makes one of the best coffees out there! She’s a real pro passionate about what she does and also very friendly and nice! Oat milk cappuccino was really best I ever had!
The word coffee entered the English language in 1582 via the Dutch koffie, borrowed from the Ottoman Turkish kahve (قهوه), borrowed in turn from the Arabic qahwah (قَهْوَة). Medieval Arab lexicographers traditionally held that the etymology of qahwah meant 'wine', given its distinctly dark color, an
Small, unfussy and basic but pleasant, and great coffee.
It is nice to have a quality coffee shop in Reading west because a lot wouldn't set up there. If you have been to Workhouse in town you know how good the coffee is; excellent. Also pleasant staff. I only dropped one star due to lack of selection on snacks etc. May be unfair as during the pandemic th
Great coffee but limited selection of food. Could do with a fix up especially the outside.
Excellent Barista’s with a good memory for a face and their favorite coffee, along with a tempting choice of cakes, sausage rolls and quiche.
One of the best coffee in Reading. Much better than the large coffee chains. Kirsty makes a wonderful coffee for you!!
Definitely going back! The barista was friendly and my Flat White was delicious. Lovely little coffee shop, much better than Costa down the road. Support local independent business!
Having moved from Australia where there is a thriving independent coffee shop scene, with speciality roasts and proper milk alternatives, we found it hard to find good quality coffee in Reading; but WorkHouse Coffee has been the place we have been looking for! Great range of roasts and milk alterna
