The Bell Inn - Reading - Photo album

My colleagues took me here for a business lunch. They joked this place was older than the US. They were probably right! In any case, the house cider was quite good. The manu was simple, but the food was expertly prepared. I wish I had time to try the scotch/whisky flight.
Have been here a few times in the past and always have a great experience. They used to have a great choice of menu. Food was always fresh and very tasty. However, on la latest visit a few days ago it was a very limited menu, not much to choose from so we had to go somewhere else. I don't know what
Best pub in the area.. The staff are welcoming and friendly. This 14th century pub has period features, well worth seeing. The cider selection is recommended, it has won awards. The bar snacks are a cut above. They also have folk music once a month
Really lovely, historic and atmospheric pub. I just called in for a coffee and dessert - they were delicious, and the service excellent. Highly recommended.
People have been coming here for over 400 years. I can see why. Step back in time while enjoying home counties conversations. It's a locals local but if you like a bit of history with better than the average pub food then make the effort definitely worth it.
2 years on from my first review, still one of our favourite local pubs. Lovely lunch today, Walnut, blue cheese and endive salad, spaghetti with cavolo nero pesto, cod with greens and mash. 2020 Super tasty Bambi burger & slow cooked lamb served by cheerful, friendly staff. All wrapped up in a cosy
We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but the interior of the pub was very rustic with low beamed ceiling and high thresholds throughout. The garden is vast with amble seating with grass and some lovely trees and a field behind it. There is also a large patio area as soon as I you come out
Well we found this pub by chance? And very glad we did! Really nice, happy, helpful, friendly staff/owners! Lovely food and beer all very reasonable prices for the area!πŸ‘πŸΊAll good! Lovely beer garden! If I lived there? Would be my local!😁🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Wonderful 600yr old pub in a small picturesque village. Has grounds for a beer garden but street parking only. Very friendly locals and bar staff with good, reasonably priced pub grub. Visited on the ale trail but as driver, and was delighted to find unfamiliar German alcohol free beer which is very
Lovely historic pub in a pretty village. Good beers and menu. Very nice staff. Street parking so you mayhave to park nearby but well worth a short walk
Small but organised village pub with a good cellar serving cracking ales, ciders and lagers plus a limited menu of high end grub. Lovely timber frame building revealing its history all around you (e.g. the snug little separate dining area just off the entrance lobby). Two log fires, a beer garden, d
Brilliant village pub, great food and nice selection of drinks. A nice stop off place when going for family bike rides
This pub is a classic village pub, very friendly. The staff are great. You have to try the Bambi burger, delicious πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹. First time I've been there and will definitely go back. Good selection of cask ciders as well
I love this country pub. The beer is well kept and the food is excellent, although I did not eat on this visit.
Great selection of beers and amazing ciders. My mother in law said it’s one of the best risottos she’s ever had and the venison was tender flavoursome and really enjoyable. Love the atmosphere here, really old pub with lots of history and an open fire. My mother and father in law wanted an authentic
You couldn't find a more quintessential English countryside pub
