Always a great quality lunch and friendly staff. We have two young children and they have been welcomed and food options provided to suit one with a dairy allergy. A bit more than your usual chain pub experience.
A hidden gem! Even though it is classed as a casual dining pub, the quality of the food was impressive and the interior reminds of a high-end diner in London. Service was great and staff members were very helpful when it came to deciding what to eat. While we were waiting for our food we had the opp
Lovely pub, staff and food. Booked here because of Windebank family history. A very nice visit.
We had a really lovely Sunday Lunch there today. The homemade soup was amazing followed by roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and several veg. Finally homemade apple crumble and real custard. We will be going again soon. Thanks to Vin and Gina for making the pub a place you just love to visit.
Started off with drinking an Ale. Choice of three. This was excellent. No issues with the quality. Driving do could only have the one.
For lunch I ate fish and chips. This was excellent. The batter was light and crisp, the chips were chunky and excellent. A couple of nice sides, mint peas, mayo and
Got there on a Thursday which is burger night. I had the chicken burger which was pretty good and they had a nice selection of beer on draft. My friends had the bangers and mash but weren't as pleased with the food. The pub still feels pretty new and somewhat lacks a proper cozy atmosphere. Nonethel
Really great Sunday lunch! That roast pork was splendid!! And the pear & rhubarb crumble went down a treat, too.
Had a lovely lunch in the Pub garden. Good Covid precautions and very few people on a Tuesday lunch time. Good beer and food. Good walks in the area through rolling countryside and woodlands.
A really lovely quirky place with very nice food. My burger was lovely and juicy and my partners vegetarian lasagne were very tasty, although small.(ladies)If you fancy having a pee on a boat, with someone staring at you, i recommend this place ;) I would give it 5 stars, if there were more comfy sea
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Red Lion in Upper Basildon today. The food was freshly prepared and tasty, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We ate outside which was glorious. They are dog friendly which is a massive bonus for us.
I understand it is under new management and after our v
Great first visit to The Red Lion. Excellent service and delicious food (we had the fish and chips and a burger) in a relaxing environment. Really impressed by the covid-19 measures in place, including easy ordering via a website.
Excellent pub food, great quality meat, burgers/chips etc. Great service and Covid processes set up for outside dining. We will be back. Thanks
They are making a really good effort at opening up for "Al fresco" dining. We had bavette steak with chimchurri sauce and Cajun fries, very nice.
Proper pub, lovely Guinness served perfectly and friendly locals. Long live the Red Lion!!
