Excellent pub and microbrewery. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable bar staff. The beer (the beast) was a rich velvety stout, caramel sweetness with a lovely depth of flavour. We only popped in for a pint, but the beer was so good we thought we’d stay and have some food too. We had fish and chips and a chicken burger respectively. Both meals were served piping hot, full of flavour, and were thoroughly enjoyable. We will return in the near future to sample more beer and food from this great pub. Thanks.

As a real ale lover, I always look to stay at a pub featured in the good beer guide when I'm away. The Boot didn't disappoint; 5 great Boot beers on the bar to sample, all brewed on the premises. I took a look in the brewery, and had a interesting chat with John the new brewer. But beer isn't everything..... The food was also fantastic (perhaps a little pricey), the accommodation was perfect and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I heartily recommend this place.

Our dinner out with friends here was excellent. We walked in and immediately liked the atmosphere. The draft beer selection, and cocktails, was impressive. We were greeted and soon seated at our table. Our server wa friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. The meal was delicious. All the staff were helpful, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Great find! We have friends in Derbyshire and this was about half way and I initially chose it as it has a microbrewery and I like to try different beers. Very busy on our arrival but shown straight to our pre-booked table by very efficient and friendly staff. Food is not cheap but quality is high so I have no complaints. Each beer I tried was better than the previous one and quality was consistent. This place is high on the list for a re-visit.

Beautiful place to come to. Food is 5* gold. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. We have been here a few times to eat and every time we come the food is presented beautifully and tastes lovely. Came for Valentine's and was not disappointed. Can't wait for our next visit.

Gorgeous dinner for five tonight. We all had something different and all had food envy at other’s plates!! Fabulous service too. Top place.

Food was nice. Portions were generous. Service a little on the slow side. I hate bills which come with a “discretionary service charge”, in all circumstances this is awkward for the customer if you do/don’t want to include it in what you pay. It’s more understandable with large groups but not for a family.

Our first visit for supper. Warm and welcoming service. We opted for a mix of small and large dishes - all were excellent but special mention of the new tomato and cheese muffin style breads, duck tacos and the Pork belly with black pudding hash. Good value for money and had more than a touch of fine dining in a traditional pub setting

This is the second booking we've made and it was just as good as our first visit! The Sunday roast is outstanding, maybe a little expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. We booked a Sunday night again, and it was worth every penny (Superior room (9) £85 including breakfast) The breakfast is so filling I didn't need to eat until 6pm, which is saying something for me! We will be trying all the other venues in the chain and can't wait but will return!

I had breakfast with my partner here and it was exceptional. I had the eggs royal and the poached eggs were perfect, and my partner had the full English and he really enjoyed his. We are thinking of trying the bottomless brunch for our anniversary later in the year.

Delicious, proper food. Good potion sizes and nice drinks too. Good service. One thing that took away from the meal a bit were the tiny flies inside (particularly by the windows)

Wonderful meal had by my family and I on Sunday. Chloe was exceptional in serving us our Sunday dinners efficiently and with a smile. She was interested in our children and very pleasant. I have been coming to The Boot for many years and i have to say Sunday was one of our very best experiences. One of my observations historically is when your food arrives and then sauces and condiments can take 5-6 mins to arrive after that. This allows food to maybe go cold. We requested the sauces with Chloe upon order and sure enough it arrived with our main course. A little thing that made a big different to our dining experience. The food was, of course excellent!

Stayed overnight, had evening meal and breakfast. The food never fails to impress! Absolutely delicious! I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal at The Boot as we’ve been going for a few years. The staff are very friendly and professional. The room was wonderful, very clean with lovely white bedding and thick soft towels. We’ll definitely be staying again.

Without a doubt the best breakfast we’ve had in along time. Not only did they cater for my beautiful dog and the fact that they cater for vegans and non dairy people but the people who served us were lovely. Our table was reserved and they even had a bowl of water waiting for our dog. They could not have done more and we will be definitively be back!!

Delightful pub which made for perfect overnight stay. Friendly and welcoming people, generous portions of delicious food, very comfortable and spacious room, fabulous breakfast. Absolutely nothing not to like. If I have one constructive criticism, it's that the wine list could do with a bit if a makeover but I place I would enjoy staying at again if I'm in the area.

Been here a couple of times and the food has been extremely good each time. Service from being greeted, shown to table and drinks order was excellent. Friendly staff, asked frequently if we were ok or needed anything, which was nice as it was a birthday celebration for my husband. Complimentary bread and herb butter was tasty. Where the service fell down slightly was when the food was brought to the table by another member staff. Only 2 of our 4 meals arrived initially, and it was quite a few minutes before the remaining 2 meals arrived, and even longer before the sides arrived. A small point maybe, but this was a special occasion, prices reflect the quality of food and it should be noted , for customer satisfaction. A very nice touch was a happy birthday greeting on the dessert plate. Parking is difficult.

The Boot Inn is a very well executed formulaic modern pub. Part of a chain of 4 in the standard battle ship grey colours. It's busy most of the time, filled with families and dogs so a great atmosphere.. Our room was (room 3) was very comfortable with a great bed and good linen. The only down side is its incredibly noisy from the bar below and kitchen corridor. All conversation can be clearly heard. So you sleep when the staff have finished at night and wake up when they start their breakfast shift. Excellent selection of draught beers and an a limited but creative menu. What we had was beautifully cooked and presented. The starters are unusual in that they are positioned as 'small plates'...? All heavy, nothing light, mushrooms on toast, deep fried fish cake etc. Staff were polite and efficient. On their terms and conditions it says they charge your room when you arrive. This is not the case, and the full payment was attempted to be taken the day before we arrived. This led to time on the phone with my bank (some 20 minutes) to establish if this call for payment was fraudulent or not. So....either change the terms and conditions to full payment will be taken at the time of booking, or don't try and take the money early.

I was just here two weeks ago. The menu has been completely revamped from when I ate here in October. The food was good then but it is so much better now! There were many yummy vegetarian options like fried paneer, padron peppers, sautéed mushrooms, etc. I had Caesar kale salad with paneer and for dessert, I had decadent sticky toffee pudding with custard. Could not have enough!! Job well done to the kitchen staff. Waitstaff are always friendly and prompt.

Fantastic Steak, the best I’ve ever had but dear me how many times did I ask for phone charger only to be told that they were asking around for one, no one came back with an answer (a simple no would have been better)

The only negative of the room is that only one chair was provided despite there being plenty of room for 2. To watch the TV one of us would have had to sit on the floor as the arrangement also meant the TV could not be seen from the bed. A disappointment in a room which was very pleasant. Breakfast and meal service was very good.

My partner and I attended today for a Sunday lunch. Both of us were let’s say delighted with the beef main and the boot platter which is a mix of beef, chicken and pork. All cooked to perfection. Roast potatoes were simply lovely but the toppers were the cauliflower cheese and red cabbage mix which was simply divine. We didn’t do the pudding on this occasion but will do next time. Btw their own Boot IPA was also a great pint. Beautiful location
