Stunning cocktails from bartender Adam - seriously this rivals some top Central London cocktail bars but in the heart of Richmond.
We loved every cocktail that Adam served up - he was great even at dealing with our teetotal mocktail drinkers. This is your go-to place in the neighbourhood for sure ! Loved it !

Been to the rock and rose for a drink many times, have always found the staff so friendly and great at their job. Went there yesterday to have dinner would recommend duck tacos and the seared seabass if they're still on the menu. Thanks rock and rose staff!! ❤️

Beautiful place with good food. Loved the cocktails. the cocktails are very sweet, I asked the waitress if the bartender could make it less sweet for me and he did. Will go back

I had a great time on Sunday at Rock & Rose, I hadn’t been for around 10years and was pleasantly surprised and it was even better than remembered. All staff were friendly and smiley. We were served by Gracie. We even received 2 x cocktails on the house 🙌🏾. I will be returning and often.

We had our wedding lunch there -- just a small wedding, so there were only 14 of us -- and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were really accommodating and helpful, the food was lovely, the drinks were brilliant, and the price was reasonable. Couldn't have chosen a better location. Would recommend every time.

Just the best evening with great staff and Maître d' - great food - fabulous portions - and so long as you eat your greens ( according to Lucy) you get the best desserts 😎😝😎
Thankyou Dijon & Steve

Good food and excellent service, even if they were very busy on Friday, but every dish was excellent 👌 👍

Great experience with a large group for Sunday lunch. The food was superb, the customer service was very friendly. I’ve been here several times with different groups and it has always been a special experience.

Amazing food and menu, hard to decide what to
Choose! Had the figs with Haloumi for starters and the Lamb 3-ways for main followed by a lovely creme brûlée. The drinks were extra special too. The espresso martini was to die for! Thouroughly recommend the place with friendly staff and great banter! If there was one downside, it was a bit hot but definitely coming back!

Went to Rock and Rose for my birthday meal with my partner last night.
The restaurant decor was very kooky and gothic which was very appealing to the eye! After looking though the menu I opted on having the lobster and mac and cheese which was quite expensive but my partner insisted as it was my birthday so I could hardly wait for my lobster only to be slightly disappointed by the size of it as I think I had only three mouthfuls and it was gone!!! As for the Mac and cheese it was mouth watering and delicious I couldn’t fault it! I also ordered myself a cocktail which I might add hit the spot!
I will definitely be returning to the Rock & Rose again for another slap up meal 😁

Exceeded my expectations in every way! First time I've visited for our Anniversary dinner. My husband and I felt so special- our table was decorated with rose petals - so romantic! We were treated to complimentary drinks on arrival - so sweet! Ambience was perfect - such a pretty place! Food was fantastic - the sharing platter dessert was fabulous! Piers our waiter was so attentive... Still smiling today as it was such a pleasure! Perfect evening... thank you all so much xx

After visiting Kew Royal Botanic Gardens, I went to Rock & Rose to eat with my mother. Their display and design are attractive and when we went in, we were impressed by their interior. Their staff is professional, welcoming and passionate about customer service. we started with the crispy duck and watermelon salad. It was definitely a good start. We shared the Chateaubriand steak for 2. It was really really good. We had a side of sweet potato fries that was nice as well. For dessert, we had the profiterole which was okay. Had better profiteroles. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but I think it is a little expensive.

Best cocktails and food in Richmond!! Amazing staff in a relaxed, romantic and very cosy environment. The perfect scenario for a date, dinner with family and friends or just a cocktail! Loved to seat at the counter and see the cocktail preprations! Congrats Adam for mixing the best cocktails of my life!
The food arrived at the right pace and everything was of the highest quality, from food ingredients to presentation. I had the squid as a starter and salmon for a main. Dessert was brownie with ice cream and although already satisfied it is worth to eat it!! In the end ask for dessert cocktails and be surprised!!

The only vegetarian in the main section. A friend who does not take meat opted for that. Not my kind of thing - no couscous and chickpeas please! Regardless, this really vibrant-looking dish would be great for all you vegetarians out there. Sticky toffee pudding. Do make a reservation as it may get busy after 7! And please do me a favour - grab a glass of their signature martini!!

Even though Rock and Rose has a few flaws as a restaurant, it's great fun for a night out. The drinks menu is long, good value and very well executed. Cocktails like the Hibiscus Royale are delicious as are mocktails like the Rock and Rose with passionfruit and cranberry. Food on the whole is very well cooked and diverse - the menu is very hard to choose from due to the good flavour combinations and variety; but having said this it is not exciting and certainly doesn't reflect the decor or vibe of the restaurant. My Halloumi salad with tomatoes and pearl barley was nice as a starter, my girlfriend's lamb rump with herb rub and potatoes was very tasty and my teryaki chicken, though a little dry had a fantastic spicy sauce and well cooked rice and broccoli. The dessert of cheesecake and berry compote was again very picturesque and well-presented and moorish too. On the whole a really good buzzy experience with lots of pro's to go with a few minor cons.

Remember when I used to do the weekly posts on a Friday - you know the ones where I rounded up 10 good things in the week?. Yeah I kind of stopped doing them - and I'm not really sure why - so this year, I've decided to bring them back!. This time though it's going to be a little different. Firstly they're now going live on a Sunday and they're going to round up all aspects of my week - the good and the bad.

Love Rock n Rose, great cocktails, great ambience and great service. Food is good, not incredible. Though their expresso martinis make it up.

Cutely decorated little pub down in Richmond. My cousin took me here whilst I was visiting London. We had a nice meal & some beverages. Would go back again just for the cocktails.

Worst Meal Out in a long time!. Having heard great things about this restaurant my partner and I have been meaning to try this place out for a while. We thought we'd go this weekend as a treat. What a disappointment...

As soon as we walked to the desk and asked for the table we had booked we were told we had to be out by 8 as it was needed for another party. If only we'd walked out at this point... We sat down and after about 20 minutes we got bored of waiting for someone to come and take our drinks order so went to the front desk and ordered our drinks and food there. The drinks came pretty fast as did the food.

The food was below average and completely over priced! The cocktails weren't bad though. It took a while for our plates to be cleared. When the gentleman came to take away our plates he didn't offer us the dessert menu. By this point we had enough and waited and waited for the bill. Eventually we got up for the bill and when no one came to take our payment we got up to pay. The cheeky waiter even tried to put service charge on our card even though we instructed him how much to take from the card. My partner at this point mentioned to the waiter that we had received a very low level of service. We got a very ingenuine/rude apology. This just topped the evening off for us!

Miserable owners. First visit to this place and will be the last. Why they bothered giving out loads of discount vouchers I will never know.
We went in there on the offchance, not with a voucher. We found it cramped and overpriced. One of the owners/managers looked like they had been sucking on a lemon. He was obviously in a bad mood. Very disappointing and a meal for 2 cost us over 60 quid at lunch time on Sunday. Wont be going back.

Avoid - the place is definitely on a slide. I have been visiting this restaurant on a fairly frequent basis (every couple of months) as I live just a corner away from the restaurant. (normally the booking was under my partner's name not under mine therefore I might have "appeared" on their booking system as a new customer).

I have booked a table for 3 over the phone for Sat night (18:30). When we got there it turned out that the booking was made for 8 person. Obviously I have NOT booked a table for 8 but for 3, and it's quite hard to believe that "three" can be misheard as "eight".

The staff had maintained their claim that I have made the booking for the wrong number, and continued pulling faces. (Customer is always right isn't?)

Eventually we got seated, and were asked to leave the table by 20:30. We have agreed to this and took the table. Around 19:50 we were just browsing through the dessert menu when we were approached by the waitress and asked to leave the table at 20:00. We refused, as the other waitress who seated us clearly said 20:30.

The manager then approached us with the same request, strongly (and without any apology) demanded us to leave by 20:00 - probably at this point I should have offered to leave without paying, and avoid further embarrassment in front of my guests as the dinner started to turn into a rather bitter experience. We refused again to leave, and stayed until 20:30 - hence "allowed" to finish our meals.

Needless to say I have plenty of other restaurant options in the Kew/Richmond neighbourhood to spend my hard earned cash, and will not be frequenting this place in the future.

Great atmosphere, good food. Our bill (for two people) with a bottle of wine, starter and main came to £60.

Surprisingly good.... The decor was unusual and very cool. The food was surprisingly sophisticated. The staff were attentive and also very friendly. This is the perfect first date venue, anniversary or any romantic evening. I'd definately go back.

Leafy Richmond has an edge, hard to believe, but it comes in the form of Rock and Rose a funky, happening restaurant on Kew Road. It's not new, it's been there for some time and is a West London stalwart, yet I went along to give it a try. I arrived just after 7.30pm onTuesday after the Easter Bank Holiday and it buzzing. My dining companion Sarah was already sitting with the menu waiting for me and we had a really lovely table for two by the picture window. Cocktail drinkers stood at the bar, women were sipping champagne on the heated patio and back inside, the restaurant appeared to be packed to the gills. The interior is Agent Provocateur (think the AP pink and black colour-way and add to that red roses) meets the Palace of Versailles (Louis XVI-style studded upholstery, big candelabra, and a lot of mirrors). That's where the similarities end because the dishes are modern European and British, embellished with a little Pacific fusion. Our waitress was the very helpful Renee and she

Had afternoon lunch here 3 weeks ago we had to wait 45 minutes before being seated even though we called ahead to say we would be late . Also emailed them to say I would have another person in my group . At no point where we offered complimentary drinks for our wait. Whilst taking our starters we where not informed that there was no longer Sunday lunch menu available eg lamb etc. when we discovered this we spoke to the manager who managed to rustle up a shared lamb and a lamb 3 ways. The bar tender was rather brash and failed to keep us up to date with our table seating we had to ask on many occasion. I have been here before and the service was slightly more acceptable than my second time . I can say I will not be coming back to this restaurant again it's a shame as the food is very good .

Curiously, it says on Rock and Rose's website that they are an award winning restaurant which is intriguing, after my visit I felt this is definitely not a place for folk with discernible palates. Rock and Rose is full of promise, they have an exciting web page with the usual high res pics of a beautifully decorated eatery. The owners have done a wonderful job in creating a cosy, monochrome styled restaurant that oozes fun, but it is, without a comparable menu. R&R attract a demographic more consistent with that of a celebration or hen's night destination, and if that is their objective then more power to them!
For me its perhaps unintentionally(?) more of a faux glamour environment - not really true sophistication but wonderfully popular nevertheless. I figure R&R serve adequate food for folk who are their to enjoy great cocktails, create a fun evening in a beautiful setting.
So given that context, unfortunately it is probably not the best place for food centric folk like myself to visit, as I was to discover. I found the menu a confusing mismatch of burgers, surf and turf food crossed with befuddled oriental styled plates that appear to be throw backs to the 90's. It was simply un-inspiring, the best choice I could muster from the menu were Halloumi cheese salad with nuts and sweet potato for starters and the burger and fries. Unless of course you have nerves of steel and order the 33 quid lobster- 33 squid for a lobster served with avocado? (when they sell lobster for 20 squid in London with a free cocktail ).... like hell, I'm not brave enough to:
A) have some okey from the skokey execute a lobster thermidore when they have lamb shank served with nuts and chilli on the menu - I mean, what is that?
B) not one soul in the entire restaurant was eating or had ordered any lobster.
So there you have it. If you want a decent lobster - head to burger and lobster in London.
So, you know in all actuality there was nothing wrong with either of the dishes I had, I mean sure I've had better burgers, but I had deliberately chosen plates that were easy to execute and the burger was perfectly served pink. The tuna with their sushi starter however was on the turn, it smelled and tasted fishy - that means it wasn't fresh and unfortunately had the chic geek rushing to the loo later in the evening, and if you're wondering, yes I interrogated him over what he'd eat during the day, he was convinced of the tuna but in all fairness you can never be 100% certain of cause. The lamb shank was ok, perfectly fine to eat even though it had the oriental fliff flaff. We opted for the cheeseboard to finish and I must say, this was actually a pretty good selection of British cheeses. They'd paired it with a curry chutney that completely over powered the cheese but otherwise it was great.
The service was bubbly, but the waitress forgot drinks and ordered the wrong dish and we were asked to vacate our seats without any warning - she hesitantly came to us at 9.30pm and said I need the table back at 9.30pm. lol. We were shifted to the lovely outdoor setting albeit amongst the smokers but we were ok with that.
R&R could be so much more than a destination, with an updated menu they could be a truly reputable restaurant, but something tells me if they wanted to change they would have by now. Each to their own.

The service and the food let this place down, if it were down to the venue and cocktails it would be a 9/10 :)

Great stylish place to go. Very friendly, clean and great food (even if a liitle on the expensive side) but then it's an experience and I look forward going here
