This was such a lovely place. The waiter seated us in a back room within view of the garden (which I was thankful for as the entrance part of the pub had an odd smell, hence the loss of the star). Where we were seated though, was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Our party ordered the burger, battered haddock and chips and the gammon & egg with chips. All three meals were absolutely perfect. The fish was cooked to absolute perfection, the burger was full of flavour and the chips were fresh and crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. I didn’t leave one bit of food on the plate. They also had Neck Oil IPA on tap which was 🤌🏽🙌🏽. The prices are obviously not ‘Spoons prices but the food is definitely worth it. Definitely worth a visit after a walk around Richmond Park 👌🏽

Visited specifically for a Sunday roast and it was well done, presented and delicious. One chicken, one beef. We favored the chicken best.
A lot of ambiance here as well. Staff was attentive, friendly and it made for a great experience as American tourists. It’s a bit off the tourist path and, if walking, it’s a long, gradual climb up a slope. But, it’s away from the hectic crowds. The nearby park was an added pleasure.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with some neighbours at The Marlborough. Its a large pub with various areas including dining rooms and cosy snugs. The garden is large and looks a great place to hang out in the summer. I tried the vegan roast which was great. Others had fish and chips and the beef. The starters were okay. I suggest going for the mains and a pud. I recommend you book a table because it got busy. It's close to Richmond Park so you can walk off the dinner after!!

Quick visit to Richmond and booked for Sunday Lunch at The Marlborough. Staff very friendly, clean and tidy, fairly busy for a bank holiday weekend. The pork belly was fantastic as well as the accompanying veg. Yorkshire ever so slightly overdone but didn't detract from the meal at all. Can't wait to visit again soon :)

Great local pub with lovely garden (would be really nice in the summer!). We all enjoyed our food and they are tasty.
I recommend lamb ribs, they did a good job.
Pork roast is massive and love the roasted potatoes that come with it. It also has proper Yorkshire pudding with a good mix of vegs
Ordered chips as a side, it’s nice but a bit expensive (£4.5) for the size of it

Me and my partner had a day out in Richmond on Sunday and booked ahead for a Sunday Roast. I wanted to make sure we got a decent roast and was keen to find a great pub that was a little ways out of the central area. So was excited when I came across the Marlborough.
A great looking pub (absolutely huge as well). We were really happy with the roasts, great portion size, leaving us stuffed with great quality food. Really incredible Pork Belly roast for me with excellent crackling. And delicious Chicken for my partner. All the veg and potatoes were delicious and an awesome sized Yorkshire!
Service was great even when overrun with customers. Will definitely be back!

First time coming here and was so impressed with their roasts and sharer plates. Crispy potatoes, tender chicken and the creamy leeks were top tier. Place was really warm and welcoming, including the staff. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious Sunday roast beef! Went in on Sunday with friends. We got a warm welcome by managers at the door and were directed to a lovely table in the garden. The roasts arrived quickly. Generous portions and I particularly liked how tasty the roast potatoes were cooked. Will visit again.

The staff and service is fantastic. Olga was a gem! The chef always prepares something to accomodate my dietary needs. It’s been my local go to as I am here for work! Great place to work and get a bite. Super friendly accommodating and a must!

Wonderful pub in Richmond! We had a late booking so we could come after a long 14km walk, and were not disappointed with the Sunday roasts. We both had the pork belly which was a huge serving with all the trimmings. Heaps of crackling on the pork if you like that. Potatoes were a tad dry but lots of gravy to soak everything up. Lovely lemon lime bitters as well as a non Alc option. Really friendly staff and the food came out SO quickly, maybe 4-5mins after ordering.

Food could not be better!! The chef takes such care with each dish and it shows! Staff is so courteous and friendly, and the atmosphere is homey and cozy. Feels the exact way you want a pub to feel, and you’ll leave full and happy and looking forward to your next visit. I promise this is a jewel of London. Must visit! Quite possibly the best fish and chips you’ll get. Bonus: dog menu!!

We had a lovely birthday meal for my son. Food was delicious and pub, as always, just stunning. Olga made us feel very welcome and took great care of us. Love your pink lipstick Olga and thank you 💕

I visited the Marlborough recently with my Wife as we’d come over from the states. I was greeted at the door by a man named duncan who would later wait our table for us. The food was awesome and we really loved the typical English pub vibe. A special mention to Duncan who gave an excellent service, and told us lots about the local area whilst we were staying. Would 100% recommend to anybody visiting from abroad who wants the English pub experience.

Felt sorry for all the guests, the overworked staff, the crying babies and barking dogs. Too many people. No way a kitchen could cope with such a mess.
Really a shame. We had one waiter in the back room trying to cope with about 60 covers. How he kept a smile on his face , I have no idea. Wilkins, you are a superstar.
I've never put a bad review on facebook before but Youngs needs to take heed. This used to be such a great pub. Youngs has obviously not paid attention here. Whomever is managing the place needs a good kick into touch! We were really looking forward to a nice afternoon with friends for a late Sunday lunch. However, overbooking like that is just plain greedy.
Our food, after nearly a two hour wait at the table was cold, missing items, inedible. Looking around at all the plates left with so much food on the other empty tables, which never seemed to be cleared, made us realise not many ate their food. Two thumbs down from our party and we will not be going back. Too many other good pubs in Richmond to go to.

Love this place! Friendly staff, great food, relaxed atmosphere. All of my friends are so jealous that my local pub has the most amazing garden. Thanks to Wilkins for the great cocktails and big kisses to the fabulous Karen for being an incredible host

Just went with a couple of friends this evening. I thought the pub was stunning. We were offered a table as we arrived by i do believe was one of the managers. I have to say that the food was really good, and they have a good selection of Gins ( heaven for a Gin drinker). The staff was very kind and friendly. I will def come back!!!!!

Seriously disappointing Sunday lunch, beef was hot all else was cold, waited ten minutes to be seated which is fair enough, then after 30 minutes had to go and get the menu myself, ordered and food arrived fairly promptly, without cutlery for another five minutes,
Asked for the bill then had to chase a staff member to pay.
Staff could care less to be honest, a thank you or a smile would have been welcome at any given point.

Came here for a sunday roast as I was reccomended by some Friends. All I can say is best roast in Richmond. The Yorkshire puddings are outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. We will be back soon.

Great Sunday lunch....only problem the sirloin was more a steak than a roast....I like my meat pink but it wasn’t an option but it was seasoned really well. Would definitely go back again....if I could have it pink it would have been 5 stars...staff were great.

Fab Family Sunday Roast! Amazing beef & yorkie's. lovely atmosphere & staff. Super busy but well organised with minimal waiting times ❤️❤️

Thank you so much for the great friendly service and delicious food. We had a great time celebrating my birthday at Marlborough, it's a cool spot! (Burgers are divine!)

Am I the only person who doesn't want to be told where I'm going to sit, when go to a pub?
While the refurbishment is undoubtedly a massive improvement, there's clearly been a decision to convert this local pub into more of a restaurant. Should you dare to enter with a child (even a baby in a pram) you will quickly be ushered to the back of the pub, as the front is now strictly 'adults only'. I suspect this is the reason for placing customers at tables instead of letting them sit where they like.
Of course, this is entirely their prerogative, but it doesn't fit with what we (and I suspect many other locals) are looking for in a pub, so we won't be back. Thankfully, during the three months they were closed, we found several other really great pubs, which are relaxed and sincerely welcome families.

Delicious food and excellent staff. Great with dogs too. We'll be visiting again.
Craig Baxter
Very nice staff and food. Great to come across a true dog friendly pub
Anthony John
Very beautiful pub. And my Frenchie was more than welcome! Would definitely recommend

Marvellous homely but spotless premises with great beer and an excellent food menu

Nice pub but really bad service. Took 2hrs to serve burgers and roasts today. No apologies until we had to keep asking and then complained. Shame as a nice pub and pretty good food. They just can't handle the number of covers they cater for.
