Another amazing pie from Debbie! The best in the dale, if not much further afield. Nothing comes from a packet, and the beer is there to match, with happy repartee. A real treat. Check Facebook in the low seasons for opening times - that seems to be the best way to check

First time we've been. The food was more than acceptable, and the service was excellent. It's a homely pub with beams, a fire and locals. We had drinks, mains and puddings and our bill was £83!! How good is that?

A really lovely country pub with a very warm welcome, and a good selection of well-priced dishes on the menu. Our meals came in a reasonable time, and were worth waiting for. The steak and ale pie was home made with excellent pastry and filling, while the gravy was absolutely delicious. All of the vegetables and chips were beautifully cooked and very fresh, and the portions were very good indeed. The Taylor's Landlord was in very good fettle, and whether just for a drink, or a meal, it's well worth visiting. Highly recommended.

Great little pub, dog friendly with a great garden. Beer kept well and the lightest batter on my onion rings ever. Worth a trip out.

First day out of lockdown and came across the angel pub, only wanted a quick beer so popped in, masks on and shown to a table by Amber, who looks after front of house and runs the bar, mother runs the kitchen looking after the food.. 2 real ales, Timothy Taylors was my choice, turned out to be a very wise one, superb pint, as we're walking stayed for second, log burner going and locals very friendly, all willing to chat over a pint, returned next day lunchtime fish and chips and chicken parm with fresh veg, some of the best pub food we have had on our travels, thank you the angel, took photos at opening time to avoid crods spoiling pictures,

One of the best pub lunches we've had, freshly cooked and served by friendly staff. Definitely we'll worth a visit and reasonably priced. Would come back if visiting this area again.

Found this lovely country pub whilst staying locally and called in for a drink and evening meal. Very friendly staff, dog friendly pub. We ordered the Breaded Chicken Burger with smoked bacon and Duck with cherry & port sauce. Both meals were excellent and portions were a great size. Very reasonable prices too. Hopefully we can return before we head home to Derbyshire.

Lovely Sunday lunch....he chose the steak pie option, packed with chunks of beef, chicken dinner for me. Both served with separate side dishes including yorkshire salad , great selection of fresh veg , dauphin potatoes, cauliflower cheese. Selection of hand pull ale and premium largers. 2 lunches, pint and 1/2 of larger well under £30.....Will be back.
