This place is cosy, quiet and perfect for a stop of if you are either a coast to coast walker or just exploring the Swaledale Valley. The bakes are really nice with generous portions and the coffee was great. I will be sure to return on my next visit to the valley.
Lovely stop at Mary Shaws, but Mary wasn't in :-). The owner is very keen on helping you, strawberry cakes were lovely with fresh cream and just near the superb walk: gunnerside trail. No card pay, only cash.
The food is remarkably delicious especially the gluten free baking. The chef/owner /waiter is absolutely charming and very friendly and helpful, although pretty busy!
