This place is a gem.
Whether you just want Pad Thai or are well established in your taste for authentic Thai or Curry, this is the spot. Good people making good food.

Spicy Thai Basil for lunch. The flavors were good. The Thai Hot spice level was medium at best. Definitely one of the mildest Thai Hots I've had in the area. Reasonably priced.

If you're looking for delicious Thai food- look no further! These dishes were full of flavor. I got the Curry Noodle with Tofu (Level 3 Spicy) and my sister got the Pad Woonsen with Tofu (Level 3 Spicy). The Pad Woonsen came with a side of rice too which is great with that extra spice.
I also ordered Crab Rangoon for the table. Do not skimp on these. GET THEM. Thank you Chadar!!

I absolutely love this restaurant! After trying Thai places near and far, it has the most delicious dishes I've ever had. Their Pad Thai is fabulous and their Pad See Ew is amazing!! My family has loved their curries and soups.
A family run restaurant, Chadar Thai has friendly service and is a hidden gem!

My favorite Thai restaurant! My dinner consisted of shrimp spring rolls, Tom Yum soup, Amazing Thai with shrimp, and some homemade Thai ice cream to finish (Thai tea and Pandan flavor). Everything was amazing. The Tom Yum soup and the ice cream are both out of this world, highly recommended! You could order anything here and not go wrong. It might not look like much from the outside, but inside the atmosphere is clean, cozy, and casual. The service was great too. 9.2/10

The pad num pik pao (E12) was the highlight of my meal. The service was wonderful. I can’t wait to try other dishes.

I was shocked at how empty this place was shortly after 12 on a Saturday. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced and everything they had was so tasty! From the Thai iced tea, to the drunken noodles and the mussamun curry. The environment was great and the server was just as delightful. Wish they got the traction here that they deserve!!

Our favorite Thai take-out in Richmond! Portions are generous, the spices are on-point, and the prices are quite reasonable.

This place is extremely underrated. I always order the Pad See Ew with thin noodles, the consistency/flavor of the egg and noodles combined with the spices is delicious. We also get the noodle soup with chicken, the broth is clear and is so flavorful and savory. Portion sizes are great too. My favorite Thai place in Richmond hands down.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Chadar Thai. My favorite dish was the Tom Yum Soup-- bright lemongrass flavor and nice spice! You can specify spice level on almost all dishes, as well as include whatever meats or tofu and veggies you want. Dumplings and curries were great too! We were able to place our order on my phone at the table and the waiter still made sure to check on us several times and refill our drinks -- seamless, pleasant experience. I especially loved that there are pictures of everything on the digital menu.
The restaurant is located behind another block of buildings off Broad Street, making it hard to see from the road. That said, there's plenty of parking and it's very easy to access. Lots of folks were ordering to go and picking up while we were there, which suggests that's an easy process too.
Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem of a Thai restaurant! 🙂
