Pizza was just ok. Crispy but very very greasy. Tasted like a typical tavern pizza. Destroyed the roof of my mouth.

Important to know that you can only pick up food here. There's not much, if any, seating. Doesn't matter – the food is consistently. Garlicky and delicious! Run, don't walk, to 8 1/2.

Excellent all around. Shared the calzone, and spicy Italian sausage, polenta, and beans with my husband— it was phenomenal. We ate in the park across the street.

I recently had the pleasure of returning to 8 1/2, an Italian takeout restaurant. I was blown away by the quality of their dishes. The marinara sauce was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spices. The broccolini is always perfection - tender, but still crisp with a squeeze of lemon. And the white pizza was simply divine. It had a crispy crust and was topped with the perfect blend of cheese and garlic. Overall, I would highly recommend 8 1/2 for anyone looking for delicious Italian food to go. You really won't find anywhere better in RVA.

I paid a visit to 8 1/2 for the first time. Let me tell you. It's best to order ahead and it's worth the wait. I ordered a basic red pizza.....aka just cheese. That's how they call it. In case you haven't figured it out the name is the actual size of the pizza. It is a perfect portion for two but you may want to order your own so you don't have to share.
I come from the mecca of pizza NYC.....I know its Italy but just go with it.
The standard is crust and sauce then cheese.... in that order.
Wow the crust is crunchy until the end..it will not get soft or soggy. Yeah that's amazing I know. Now for the sauce it's definitely real Ingredients that you can taste individually like tomatoes garlic and basil....oh my it really a homerun. The cheese is a perfect portion. Thet have mastered the art of pizza.
Go try for yourself you owe it to your taste buds. I'm mad for not finding this place sooner.

While I can see someone saying that an avg price of $16 for a personal pizza seems high, the quality of the bake and the actual size of the pizza feels well worth it here. You won't walk away hungry from one of these. Got the breakfast and pepperoni - both excellent, and really enjoyed the large cuts of pepperoni.

This place has great pizza. Simple menu, but they really deliver on quality. I usually stick to the classic pepperoni, but spiced it up this time with some sausage.

100%the best pizza in town, bar none. Order, go next door to Scoop and have an appetizer course of ice cream while you wait for your order, and then enjoy the best pie in Richmond. So, so good.
