Great place to visit, had great food and bought a few plants , fabulous place, highly recommend, other forms of transport recommended to get there as not much room to park

This is a very stylish and special place, we had a great dinner and staff are lovely - if you can’t get to Richmond try the new place in Covent Garden.

Love this place. Gorgeous setting. Food is pricey but usually rich in taste and flavours. Makes a fantastic lunch or dinner date venue, good place for kids at lunch too. I’ve done the supper club in the past as well as lunch on several occasions but always in the summer. I’m sure it’s stunning in the winter too!

What a gorgeous restaurant situated in a glasshouse. Make sure to book ahead because petershams nurseries is pop-u-lar. If you miss out on a table in the restaurant there is a tea & cake room too. The complimentary snacks of vegetables from the garden and fresh bread was lovely. The chicken was succulent and juicy. The cheese to round everything off was perfect. Great service. Beautiful location. After lunch wandering around the various nursery glasshouses is a great finish.

Loved this place! The perfect place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! I really enjoyed that dogs were welcomed (and almost encouraged). We got the lemon poppy seed cake and the chocolate cake as well as a pot of the peter sham blend.  I will definitely be stopping by the next time I am in London.

When the Great Fire of London of 1666 broke out the one thing the great diarist Samuel Pepys wanted to save was his Parmesan cheese. Parmesan is, of course, an anglicisation of Parmigiano Reggiano P.D.O. (though they didn’t have the protected P.D.O status in Pepys’ day), the wonderful cheese that is the root of Italian cooking.

Petersham Nurseries. Remember that? Of course you do. You’ll probably be remembering its glory days, under Skye Gyngell, when it had a Michelin star and everyone went on about how expensive it was. I never really fancied it then, I’m not sure why. Perhaps it was the airy-fairiness of it, or the worry that I was going to have to trek across London to feel short-changed. It didn’t speak to me.

The rather wonderful Petersham Nurseries has been on my hit list for as long as I remember however never quite finding the time to book or, for that matter, get in! I had put it in the back of my mind to try next summer.

Luckily for me my Maid of Honour blocked out a Sunday and managed to bag two spots in the main restaurant. After a browse through the stunning shop and totalling up that I probably spent around £10k in around 5 seconds on gorgeous pieces of furniture (in my head) it was time for lunch.

Both cafe and restaurant are housed in beautiful Victorian glasshouses and are completely full to the ceiling of flora and fauna - it is a rather magical place to be, especially this time of year where twinkling Christmas lights are entwined throughout the climbing plants and branches.

The simple menu has around 6 starters and the same for mains. All seasonal, all local sustainable ingredients and all incredibly tempting. The emphasis here is showing the ingredients off in the best possible way. Many dishes have only 3 or 4 elements to them. It's simple cooking at Michelin standards and completely my kind of food...colourful, fresh and the type of food which makes you content with each mouthful...

Starter of Burrata, Autumn pumpkins, hazelnuts, cavolo nero tips, oregano and chilli. Dressed simply in olive oil - delicious.

With the cold Autumnal air outside there was one thing on the menu I knew would warm me right up 'Fish stew'. Abundant with clams, red mullet, mussels and garlic bruschetta. Served with a good dollop of a punchy Aioli it really hit the spot and was a wonderful bowl, full of goodness.

I absolutely loved it here and left with a beaming smile and a warm feeling of content. A really special little place where you can leave your London head behind and completely immerse yourself into a totally different world. Go early doors, have a good old romantic wander down the river, take in the cold crisp air and work up a good appetite. A place never to be missed and one that is now firmly at the top of my favourites list.

If based on beauty alone I would give this place 5 stars. A charming, dog friendly, "secret garden" affair, rustic and unfussy; a fairytale where nature supersedes.

You can't help but be taken aback by the encapsulating branch arches overhead, the wildly growing foliage and curated potted plants; a bazaar for mother nature!

We decided to sit in the outdoor cafe where you have to collect your food, a selection of relatively healthy dishes and mainly salad based.

We ordered the fried chicken on salad which was cold and average at best (4/10), cold pasta salad with grains (7/10), tomato salad which was extremely plain (5/10) and a poached egg salad with unfortunately pre poached eggs (6/10).

It was a light feast and though nothing spectacular I would definitely come back to try the main restaurant and perhaps enjoy a coffee with my dog enroute to Richmond Park.

A lovely day out and on this occasion the setting certainly saved the food; if it was better it would definitely be receiving full marks from me.

Almost Perfect. My partner and I ate here a couple of weekends ago on a crisp Saturday in early January.
Though a little surprised at the price, this soon gave way to delight as the food was quite sensational.
I opted for a crab salad, whilst she had a roasted squash with tomato, chickpea and other sides. Described as 'the best vegetarian main dish' she's ever eaten - and with five years of no meat that is no small feat.
My crab was wonderful, with an unusual but perfectly judged winter leave selection. A high volume of crab meat further enhanced my opinion.
Best intentions meant no alcohol in the new year, so we instead shared a pitcher of their elder-flower cordial, fizzy, refreshing and again wonderful.
Very much looking forward to the next visit, the service was spot on, the dining room delightfully different, and the food deserving of it's Michelin star.

Food and atmosphere were amazing. Service was good but they forgot to bring our teas with the afternoon tea menu, which I was not expecting from a place like this. I took my family who was visiting for the afternoon tea and they truly enjoyed it (including two kids aged 9-10). We all got afternoon tea menus and each bite was an experience. The place is lovely as well and you can spend some times going through the plants shop and lifestyle shop as well. Perfect lunch plan if you are going to Richmond park for a stroll before! Will definitely come back again soon!

Fabulous experience. The staff were efficient and friendly, the food was excellent, and the menu offered choices that were delightful. Definitely worth making a special day of it and having a nice lunch. Make sure to allow plenty of time to browse all of the garden and home goods shops. Very tempting selections from which to choose.

I have to admit, I’ve sort of become accustomed to going to restaurants with good reputations expecting to be disappointed- they so often fail to live up the the hype. This absolutely is not the case with Petersham Nursery Restaurant- lunch today was superb. The food was superb - dishes were each a little bit different, without trying to be too clever. Service was excellent - welcoming without being too fussy. And the setting was lovely (helped by a wonderful late summer day). We last went here almost 10 years ago, when it was just starting to build its reputation - I’m now sorry we didn’t go back sooner. For once, a restaurant with an great reputation exceeded my expectations!

One of my favourite places in the world! Beautiful decor, lovely staff and the food is delicious. I had a better experience eating here during the week than at the weekend (it was very busy and we had to chase several times).

Petersham Nurseries Restaurant is a romantic place for afternoon fun in Richmond. The food is a bit overpriced, limited choose in the menu, you can only select two courses for £55 or £65 for three courses. vegetable salad fish are quite fresh and cooked to a good standard, highly recommended.

We came here for a weekday lunch, and it was surprisingly busy - always book ahead to avoid disappointment. The location is delightful - a short walk across grassy fields from the Thames - as is the setting, in a bohemianly decorated greenhouse, within the grounds of a gorgeous plant nursery - we also left with lots of plants. The food was very nice, but expensive for what we got - perhaps to be expected when there is such high demand. Service was mostly good.

Beautiful place for a special occasion. Fantastic sommelier! But it can be tricky to get waiter's attention. Food was fresh and really good but it arrived lukewarm to the table. We ordered desserts and cocktails at the same time but received cocktails 15minutes after we had already finished our desserts... On our final bill we have been charged for 3 cocktails instead of 2, which was swiftly fixed by waiter. In overall- nice place to go for a meal but service is not worth 13.5%... with this price tag service should be impeccable. Been to places with the same price tag but much better service

Anyone who gives anything less than 5 stars to any aspect of this place is a pinnacle hater who will die alone due to being unlovable because of their hate. The food is literally gourmet...with fish fresh from the ocean (which is very rare in London) and all vegetables literally grown on sight in the nursery (it's a plant nursery). Honestly can't fault the food. The service is fantastic, a special mention to mediterranean Samuel who took care of my family for my old man's 70th birthday, which was pulled off brilliantly. And the ambiance is incredible as it's in a beautiful garden. In the summer this is as good as it gets, honestly. And even when the weather is colder there's a greenhouse to use instead which is nicely decorated.

Early dinner on a warm Thursday evening. Arrived early to enjoy the quiet hum of the waterfountain surrounded by beautiful plants from the nursery. Incredible menu with fabulous starters, freshest of tomatoes and ricotta, succulent chicken and the fluffiest of cheesecake. Fabulous and friendly service.

Beautiful place to wander through. Lovely pretty space, selling garden and house plants, plus items and gifts for the home. The café & restaurants were extremely overpriced.
