Felt like I was on holiday sat outside yesterday having breakfast. I went with my family of 5 and we had the best food! The staff were lovely, the food was about 15-20 minutes which isn’t bad and when it came it was delicious! They have recently got new outdoor furniture which is lovely, very comfortable and stylish. Cannot wait, this is definitely our new place for breakfast. Thanks Phoenix! x
We have eaten at the Phoenix many times over the years and last Sunday we held our sons christening celebration meal with our family. There were 22 of us in total and every single one of our party couldn't praise the food enough! The food was cooked perfectly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely area reserved and the staff were very attentive. The terrace and views are lovely for enjoying drinks and the garden very safe and spacious for our children to play. Can't recommend this place enough and we look forward to returning soon! Thank you Mel & all the staff xx
Lovely atmosphere at this pub, always seems quite popular whether your going for drinks or food. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. It always seems really clean. Food was nice but menu seems a bit limited compared to how it used to be. Pricing seems more on the expensive side as a chain pub, but not ridiculously.
Absolutely beautiful meal! Waiter was very polite and helpful! We were lucky to get a table - so glad we did!
We organised a wake for a family friend as this was one of his favourite pubs for lunch. We are so pleased that we did so as the room was perfect and as private as we needed it to be. The staff were all lovely as usual and brought in a delicious buffet. The food was really lovely and just what we wanted. There was a huge amount of it but they kindly brought out boxes for us to give to our guests to take home so nothing was wasted. Tea and coffee was made available and everything tasted fresh and home made. Thanks so much to all the staff
This was my favourite place for fresh battered cod.
But for some reason this visit I didn't enjoy we both had fish they both looked like pre formed fish.
For £14 I expect a lot better not happy.

We had a buffet for an occasion. From the arrangements to the end the service/staff were excellent. Plenty of choices ie vegetarian and gluten free
I met up here with my brother yesterday for a catch-up and, of course, something to eat. I've not been in The Phoenix for a few years, and it probably wouldn't have been anywhere that first sprung to mind as somewhere to meet, but i have to say thhe staff were very polite and friendly, and the atmosphere was great, they had a roaring open fire as we walked through to our table. I ordered gamon, egg and chips ( I forgot to take a photo because I was starving). Service was pretty quick, and I have no complaints about the food whatsoever. It will now be on my radar as a meeting place for future events. Thanks to everyone for a lovely evening.
Had a lovely meal here yesterday, it was wonderful to catch up with one of my friends Mathew Lowe, I remembered I had only cooked for him in the past so figured out it was his turn to cook lol. I almost managed to finish my mixed grill but it was a great sized portion, the woman had Fish chips and peas and really enjoyed it too. Good to catch up with Matty, the atmosphere is excellent, friendly helpful staff, lovely place, will deffinately be visiting again, much love mate.
Excellent food and service nothing too much trouble for any of staff, it's a shame it is too far from home to be my local, also spotlessly clean all round. I cannot comment on menu as we were attending a private party and we had a buffet which was excellent and appeared to be bottomless but there were a lot of people dining which is always a good sign.
