The Old Cottage is an atmospheric thatched, timber framed building with low beams and original features. The selection of dishes was extensive. The food was delicious. We are only in the area for a week but it was so good that we have booked in again for our last evening. The service was friendly. I would highly recommend it.

Very old thatched building in Ringwood, inside somewhat olde worlde and you can make your way through a number of smallish rooms, bit quirky.
Very good menu lots of fresh seafood not overly expensive but very good. We all enjoyed our visit. 👍

We have eaten at the old cottage several times. Always as part of large family gatherings. Initially we chose it as it was (sort of) half way between different branches of the family and was dog friendly. Every visit has been a delight with a warm welcome and brilliant staff. The food is excellent and the chef so helpful. One member of the family has special requirements and they are always so happy to help.
Prices are above the level you may expect in standard pubs and chain restaurants but, it has to be said, deservedly so. We haven't had a bad dish yet. The desserts are delightful.
Small but perfectly formed in a beautiful old building, this is a great place to meet and eat.

Just had Christmas Day lunch here and it was brilliant. Family of four and we all enjoyed the setting, atmosphere and of course the food. An enjoyable 4 course meal which we all loved. It was a relaxed lunch and no pressure. Staff were friendly and helpful. Could not think of a better place to enjoy a Christmas Day lunch. Would certainly go back.

Lovely Friday night family meal. Friendly staff and perfectly cooked food. There is a fab specials board and a good range of fish dishes. The scallops and meringues were fabulous. One of our party didn't fancy a dessert and wanted another starter and they accommodated no problem! We just walked in from the street and got a table luckily. Usually busy apparently. We loved it.

Excellent food and service in a homely setting with open flame fire. Large range of meals to choose from including a vegetarian menu. Be sure to order their golden, soft centre chips and battered onion rings on the side.

Welcoming restaurant in a lovely market town. We felt very welcome for lunch and had 2 really good courses. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing for dessert and my other half loved his profiteroles. All desserts are homemade and you can tell.
It's also a hotel and would be a charming place to stay.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Old Cottage. From the historic cottages to the friendly staff, the atmosphere was welcoming. The home cooking was delicious, and the reasonably priced menu offered a good range of options. The local produce was fresh and cooked to order. The local chef Paul did an outstanding job. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend The Old Cottage.

Just had the best service and most delicious meal. Celebrated my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary where 50 years ago today they had their wedding reception here!
Food was all cooked to order and tailored to our needs/fussiness. Extremely good fresh seafood menu and the best steak I have ever eaten. Thank you for making our parents extremely happy x

Fantastic and charming family run restaurant serving modern British/European food. The daily specials had lots of fresh fish dishes as well as an extensive a la carte menu. The wine list was well thought out and the wines by the glass were just right. The staff were exceptional! Friendly and accommodating. I am definitely going back when I visit the New Forest again.

We were staying in oakdene forest resort and fancied venturing out for dinner, and I’m so glad we found this restaurant. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. My family and I enjoyed every course we had. Also, the staff were friendly and welcoming. If we are nearby in the future, we’ll definitely be visiting here again!
