Mcdonald's

Went through the drive through here and there was a long queue, although there always is, probably due to the fact it is on a very busy road. Don't get caught up in the traffic trying to drive around to the car park at the back! Wait time wasn't too bad, we were told to go park in a bay and the food only took a couple of minutes. Staff were very friendly and served us quickly.

This branch falls far below the standard of almost any other McDonlads I've been to. The drive though gets prioritised over walk-in/app orders. The queue for this is always huge and requires you to drive into a petrol station first. The drive through queue also blocks the car park entrance so you're forced to wait regardless. The app never works at this place so you're forced to go into the branch instead of the numbered parking bays. If you ever manage to make it inside, you'll find your wait for the food to be easily 20+ minutes. The orders are consistently wrong with items almost always missing. They regularly don't have things working such as the milkshake machine and a limited availability on the range of mcflurries. The branch is unable to cope with the sheer volume of customers which only exists due to the lack of almost any fast food chain in the local area. Were there more competition, I'm sure someone would be held accountable for the failings here.

Waited 10 minutes in drive-through que before deciding to park up instead as the que was extremely slow and causing disruption in the petrol station spilling onto the main road. My family got out to place the order. There were no parking spaces so i drove around the surrounding roads and finally returned and parked on the petrol forecourt, very badly but had no option. I thought my family would be a few minutes at most. They were a further 10 minutes before they came out. I was keen to get moving as i was conscious of being badly parked then we realised we were a burger short that we had paid for. Another 5 mins later we could leave, never to return! The whole place was chaos, people complaining everywhere and shouting at staff because of the shocking service.

Considering this is the only mc Donald’s in Ripon, it’s annoyingly the worst one I’ve ever been to. I travel for work up and down the country and this is my local one. There is ALWAYS something wrong with my order, it will have missing items, the chips are always cold. The coke is always flat and tastes like it’s always just soda water no syrup. Ripon is a small town and busier mc Donald’s manage to get their orders and food out hot, correct and with nothing missing. I wouldn’t mind if it was once or twice but I’ve been here 2 years and I’m now giving up with even Visiting again.

It's fast food, but not massively so. They seem to prioritise the drive through rather than the walk in. Touchscreen ordering system is fine, but slow and not very responsive - rather talk to a person and order in 30 seconds rather than bash a screen and take 3 minutes....!!! McMuffins are the same as in every McDonald's - you can't go wrong.
