Great place to visit on Rochester High Street and dog friendly. Obviously there’s great cheese but also good coffee, wine and beer choices. Some top quality sandwiches and toasties as well, I had the breakfast sandwich this weekend!
Wish we could of sat here all day!
The food was absolutely gorgeous
The coffee delicious .. And the staff are so helpful & welcoming
And the cheese is to die for ..
Really looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks
Would most definitely recommend to everyone
I had the Autumn Salad with Goat's Cheese- to die for. Absolutely gorgeous, even my husband had a portion of mine! He had the Cheese and Ham melt- says was really nice. Would have been even better with a bit more salad than just tomatoes on the side.
Will be coming back for the lovely looking Cheeseboards that we saw being served.
Seating is limited but luckily we arrived just before the lunchtime rush.
Brunch with my daughter at the Cheese room an amazing munch. The staff are very accommodating and happy even after England 🏴 yesterday evening minor set back, the good cheese great coffee 5* Cheered me. Well worth a visit.
Fantastic place, great food plus the best coffee in Rochester in my opinion, friendly staff and dog friendly also, Great job Julie and Chris
Another great lunch at our favourite place in Rochester, I have one selfish gripe! Where has the reclette gone? This is defo my favourite dish and would love to know if and when it will be returning?
See you soon
Celebrated my son's 30th birthday in the cellar room. Food was excellent and staff so friendly. Would recommend
Enjoyed a really good lunch here this afternoon. Great food, dog and child friendly with a helpful, welcoming staff. Would recommend
Lovely place to eat, lots of cheeses and meats available, to buy separately and to have in your sarnie. Bread is homemade and staff are very friendly. The cheese and ham melt is divine. Will definitely be revisiting.
Fantastic selection of cheeses. We went here on Saturday had the mixed platter of meats and cheeses and a couple of glasses of Chapeldown wine. It was delicious. Great service great cheese, and wine:D
Lovely place, friendly staff, fab cheese and gorgeous wine all on a Saturday afternoon in a warm room with blankets, a fire and wonderful atmosphere. Will be back x
Julie and the team really made sure I had the most special birthday. They really were so friendly and kind.
We hired the cellar room which was beautiful and everyone says how lovely and relaxed it was.
The food and wine was excellent.
I really had such a wonderful time I can't wait to go back!
We went here this morning for brunch

Good food ,we will be going back for breakfast
Also booked down stairs for my birthday next.year
Thank you Julie
Popped in for a breakfast and was greeted by the smell of freshly baked tarts and cakes. Was told that everything was available and invited us to see the menu boards. Fabulous choices .... all cheese related as you would think. Having chosen and ordered we sat down to await the delight, as we had already had many a recommendation. We were not disappointed on our two different choices. I had the Bacon, Egg and Tomato on Cheese Toast and my partner had the cheese melt. Both were delicious and accompanied by a lovely hot tea and coffee. The servers were very delightful and friendly and although our visit was not at one of their very busy times, I cannot imagine that the welcome would be any less. We left with a definite intention of going back again with friends in tow. Oh and a couple of sultana flapjacks. Brilliant experience ... thank you
Had a lovely evening at the cheese rooms last night for my friends birthday. There are times when you just want a relaxed evening with some decent wine and cheese.....and the cheese rooms offers just that. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Will definitely be going back!
Great little place. The selection of cheese, meats is great. Attentive helpful staff. All round awesome
Had a brilliant day on the Breadmaking course yesterday!
Went home with bag of wonderful breads we had made plus loads of tips and enthusiasm to continue making at home. Really recommend. Thanks to Chris and staff for such a good time.
Had a very tasty lunch yesterday in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. So many good things on the menu it was difficult to choose what to eat! Anyone who hasn't eaten here is missing out!
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere.
We were sitting downstairs and the decor was dark and very romantic.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I did not like the fact that we got our drinks a lot later than our food, but it is what it is, hence the 4*.
The couple next to us, had their desserts first and had enough time to finish their desserts then they got their drinks. It is something that could be looked at.
A must place to eat in Rochester!
The food is exceptional. One of the nicest toasties I have ever tasted. The sourdough and cheese in the toasty was delicious. The Cafe has a very accommodate menu to suit everyone, from omnivores to vegans.
All the stuff were lovely and very helpful. The Cafe was nicely decorated and I like touch of flowers grown around the courtyard. The whole atmosphere of the cafe was very warm and welcoming.
Dogs are welcomed.
I would definitely recommend The Cheese Room.
I love this little cafe. Friendly staff always have a warm welcome to greet you. The cafe is quaint and warm with extra seating downstairs. Or in the garden. Food is excellent, fresh and bread is made daily in store. Highly recommend the grazing box which you can pre order to take on a pick nick.
Fantastic birthday lunch with a British cheeseboard platter and a very well priced Chapel Down sparkling wine. Couldn’t fault the service, incredibly attentive staff, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable, they really did go the extra mile to make us feel welcome, especially Angus my black Labrador. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.
Lovely food and ambience, day on the outside tables in the High street.
Went here for a lunch, had the meat and cheese platters. Food was delicious, staff were very friendly and welcoming and the venue was well run by the staff. Would happily visit again!
First time in Rochester and decided to give the place a go. Had a couple of nice coffees, a cake and the cheese board. I though the portions were good and the prices extremely reasonable. Thought the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. If I ever find myself in Rochester again I'd definitely revisit.
It was a perfect size lunch. We had the panini with Brie cheese, and ham, and tomato as well as a cheese scone. The cheese scone was delicious! The tea was tasty as well. It was a yummy lunch but nothing that blew us away. Would recommend for a basic lunch in Rochester.
Dropped into the Cheese Room Café for a light lunch. We sat in the garden/back yard. The halloumi burger and quesadilla were both really tasty. The service was as good as the food.
Hot chocolate was spot on, warming, great presentation. Fast service and polite.
Cookie was excellent 👌
We'll be back for lunch next time. Everything looked and smelt amazing!
We enjoyed lunch in the garden of this lovely cafe. Food was lovely and the service was very good. The cafe and garden were decorated nicely. For lunch I had The Smokey toasted sandwich with a caramel latte. Walking down the High Street we noticed that there was another Cheese room Cafe down the road. It looked slightly bigger. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in Rochester.
Wonderful selection of cheeses and cold meats at the counter, plus a great menu for dine in customers. Seating is also available in a rustically stylish downstairs area. So far I've enjoyed sharing the cheese fondue, English cheeseboard and macaroni cheese with chorizo. The cheeseboards are supposed to be for one, but we shared that and the macaroni cheese and it was ample as a lunch. Dogs on leads are welcome, and contactless and Apple Pay is also accepted. On our visit the coffee was forgotten in the mocha, and the chorizo off the fondue, but the friendly staff were happy to rectify immediately.
Good food, but could use some toilet updating. We had the meat and salami platter and the chicken melt sourdough. The seating downstairs is better because of more space.
Wow, this place is a must for cheese lovers. The food is wonderful & service is so friendly. I always make a purchase of scones and local cheese when I leave. 5 ⭐ every time.
What a wonderful afternoon.
Stunning interior.
Staff , especially Laura and Michelle were excellent.
Had the Haddock skillet. Perhaps the best meal I have ever had.
Value for money.
Highly recommended
The cheeses are amazing. Found this shop on a trip to Rochester. Have a great selection of cheeses and breads to buy. Staff and very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a must if you are in Rochester or just love cheese. 😋
A fantastic place. Just been to a "Cheese and Draw: workshop with the amazing, talented artist Luna Zaigo. We were treated to a wonderful array of local cheeses and fabulous rustic breads and biscuits while we were there. This is my new favourite place in Rochester. Perfect for chilling with a coffee or some brilliant Kentish wines. My mission is to work my way through their menu . Cheeses are the heros, but plenty of lovely sharing boards. Staff are lovely. Go and visit them 😊
Australians all let us rejoice...as you can get a good Sydney/Melbourne quality flat white here (or latte, cap etc). Visiting relatives here and was missing proper coffee as very large cups and very thin milky coffee seems to be the norm in local cafes and chains. So for now a regular here. They have very delicious goats cheeses and seem popular for their toasted sandwiches. Extra seating out the back.
