What a gem of a local pub! Unlike other village pubs, this one is truly welcoming. Nobody looked us up and down and the barman, Will was delightful and friendly.
We ate from the menu, although there were several daily specials. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced, too.
The owners were all in the pub and were like Will friendly and inclusive. Before long, we felt like locals, too. We left with a smile on our faces and sore ribs from laughing so much.
We will definitely be back!

We were looking for a nice place to watch the champion's league final. . and the place was quite full already.
It was obvious that we were from out of town.. but we were welcomed as old friends back from a long trip.... And were given premier seating right in front of the tv set !
A hearty thanks to the staff and the patrons of the star inn ..it's really a sense of feeling at home even though you are abroad.

Me and my partner booked a stay nearby the town.
Strolled into town and popped into The Star and had a few drinks and was offered a menu. We decided it was a little early to eat and had a little walk instead.
An hour later we headed back to The Star and asked for a menu but unfortunately the kitchen had closed. We ordered drinks and sat down. A short while later the lovely lady behind the bar said they would fire up the kitchen again if we would like to eat.
They then customised our meals to our liking with no fuss and couldn’t have made us feel more welcome.
Fantastic service, good food and a good selection of beers.
Would highly recommend this pub, unpretentious and welcoming. A real Star indeed.

Went here for a few drinks with some local friends. We could sit out in the back in the farmer's field which was nice. Nice selection of beers, and good service. An unpretentious pub. Would recommend.
I won a raffle for a meal for 2 for this pub and me and my wife and little girl chose to go on the Sunday and enjoyed the most amazing roast dinner. The service was excellent. Highly reccomend.

This pub really does excel at making new customers welcome and the same goes for the customers themselves. And with excellent beers and attractively presented food it lives up to the glowing reviews. Of course, not forgetting Mike the barman ...or was that really Emma??
Brilliantly fun pub, great sports coverage and lovely outside area with chimenea. The staff make this pub, they are so welcoming and friendly, it feels like home but with better beer!
This is a good solid pub with good grub.
If it not fancy, but the food is nicely prepared and very tasty.
The service was attentive and not intrusive and overall very pleasant - we will be returning.

Had Sunday lunch there, quite busy. We were able to eat in the compact garden. Very friendly staff. Food good. Quite busy but acceptable service, worth the wait!
Better on the inside than from the outside, nice friendly atmosphere and attended by locals. You were made to feel welcome. Food was nice with good portion sizes and a fair price.
I had a meal here on Tuesday 22nd May. It was fantastic, delicious and ridiculously good value for money. Staff lovely and atmosphere great. I can't recomend it enough.
