The food was nasty. I ordered noodle chicken soup. I've never eaten such a bad soup before, but what to expect if you pour soy sauce over the cooked chicken and add water, no vegetables, only soy sauce, noodle water and a few pieces of Beijing cabbage. How can food be so wasted?

At 19:50 on 26th June, I ordered £38 worth of food from Sweet Basil Chinese, the delivery was scheduled for 20:55. Approximately 21:20 I contacted the restaurant regarding an update, which I was told the food was on it way. Unfortunately, still nothing. Approximately 21:50, I contacted the restaurant again in relation to my delivery, in which they responded that the food has been delivered. When I explained that the food hasn't been delivered, they treated me like I was lying, the owner of the restaurant refused to speak with me, refused to cook new food or offered a refund, after speaking with the Manager Tommy, they eventually agreed they would send the driver back to my address to see if I'm the person he handed the food over too (the driver even explained the description of the person who he handed the food too, which was the complete opposite to me), which they agreed if I wasn't, they would cook new food for me etc 20 minutes after, the driver arrived and agreed that I wasn't the person and that be confirmed he handed the food over to someone else completely. The driver contacted the restaurant from my property and explained the situation, the boss said, if the driver doesn't pay the £38, I wouldn't be issued with a refund or new food cooked. The driver then quit the job on my doorstep as he agreed the boss is a horrible man and agreed he would pay the £38, I then call Tommy back and ask for an update, which they refused to issue a refund or cook new food, after serval conversation, they finally agreed they would cancel my order and issue a refund, in which, they began explaining that they couldn't because their Just Eat Panel wasn't working. I contacted them two days later in good faith and explained to them, I have found out who the person who took the food in case they wanted to send a driver and try and get their money back, to be told I am banned from the restaurant. Personally, I would stand clear of this restaurant, if there is anything wrong with your order, they will not be helpful and you will waste 3.5 hours of your evening arguing with the owner. If you don't believe me, check their Google reviews, which explains it all.

You get what you pay for. We had 6 dishes, chicken, pork and veg options.
Was all OK. For an average of £5 a dish was on lower side of acceptable. Would not pay more than that for it.
Is much better in Romford. Our 2 usual places were telling us to wait over an hour and we couldn't wait that long.

This is normaly my go to hinese place.
But tonight the food tasted out dated and old dry. The pancake rolls were dry and had a funky smell. The chow main tasted reheated and dry and the sweet and sour chicken had about 4 pieces of chicken .....

i ordered on Just eat, forgetting this was the take away i had before. Last time it was so bad i had to take the whole thing back. This time Ditto. the noodles were ok , everything else terrible. i dont think Chinese people have anything to do with this place. Dont wastes your money

As the delivery was not coming 45 minutes past the time I was given, I rang to enquire, and was told the food was cooking and would be with me within 30 minutes. An hour later, still nothing. I rang again and was told it was cooking. Now I can accept a lot, but not lies and deceit. Liars, uncaring, no customer service when under pressure at least. Had to cancel my order in the end, and never got a refund (has now been over 2 weeks). daylight robbery, should be ashamed of being a business owner. AVOID!

Disgusting customers service I ordered here on Saturday 26/11/2021 was told delivery was between 18:50-19:10 so at 19:15 when still no food I called to be told it would be another 15 minutes at 19:35 still no food so I called again was to told it would be another 15 minutes so at 20:00 still no find I called again to be told the driver had not collected the food, when I ask if they were were joke the guy said the manager told him to tell me to get a refund from just eat ??? The food is not coming when I ask to speak with the manager the guy said the manager didn’t want to speak and cut the phone off, disgusting way to run a business avoid this place.it not even a 1star
