✨Superb cafe in the heart of Rotherfield. Excellent food, great value for money, very relaxing place to go, with really lovely staff. Well worth a visit. They think of the kids too, with board games and a menu for little ones. A+ ✨

Thank you to all at The Courtyard for making my birthday lunch such a special celebration. All the hard work was taken out of my hands, and nothing was too much trouble as we planned what style the party and menu should take. The chef produced an elegant, delicious selection of dishes - all my guests were so impressed. It’s definitely the way to enjoy entertaining!

My mum and I had a really yummy lunch in here today. Superb food at a more than reasonable price and Anne and her friendly team are the cherry on top. They even have a little gift corner and jars of sweets. Love this place!

Surprisingly extensive menu, excellent food & very good service. Attention to detail (like serving tea in chinaware) makes all the difference. Overall, a 5* experience - a real credit to your industry!

Lovely lunch here today (thank you, Mum, for treating me). Very busy, which just shows how popular The Courtyard is.

We came in for an early lunch while in the area. A nice spacious seating area, quick service & our food arrived in no time. The food was lovely & reasonably priced. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

After moving away from Rotherfield I always look forward to coming home, and the courtyard is definitely one of the reasons why. With warm and speedy service partnered with delicious food and a laid-back atmosphere, the Courtyard never fails to remind me of home! The full English is a MUST, can't beat perfectly cooked eggs and a pot of tea, and all so reasonably priced. There are delicious options catering to everyone, - a relief to my husband as he's a vegetarian and wouldn't stop raving about the sauteed mushrooms- and the breakfast was so good it managed to keep the kids quiet! (an absolute rarity). With seasonal, local produce, it encapsulates the best of British food and keeps even the pickiest of eaters happy :) truly a hidden gem you shouldn't hesitate to add to your list - can't wait to go again!

Lovely cafe, visited here a handful of times and always had a nice experience. Cakes are good as are the breakfasts, most recently I had the breakfast hash which was really tasty. Staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

A fantastic cafe in the heart of Rotherfield, the food is delicious with a selection of goodies on offer, and the staff are the most welcoming I have ever been served by, Michael, Eileen and the team are always so lovely, with parking across the road, delicious home made food and a warm welcome, what more could you ask for. Will defonatly be back.

Large cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Eggs Royale was delicious and a good sized serving. The staff were friendly and reareanged tables happily for larger groups. Good value for money.

Very nice, well cooked breakfast - a surprisingly rare thing in this area. Coffee could do with beefing up for my taste but it's perfectly drinkable.

This is such a delightful place and a huge asset to the village. Although it is a cafe (with a great breakfast menu that goes through to lunch time), we chose it for a birthday lunch for my elderly Mum as she struggles to travel far. They don't have a licence, but we brought our own wine - when they saw we had brought fizz, the staff immediately brought out the champagne glasses. They could not have made my Mum feel more special - the whole cafe sang her happy birthday. The food is great, with a menu that has something for everyone...and it's really good value. Dogs are also welcome. Brilliant place.

Nice cafe, but on the two occasions I’ve been there now for coffee it was far too hot ( scalding) when served . Coffee should not be served that hot and presumably the machine can be adjusted to a cooler temperature.

Excellent food, lovely staff, good selection on the menu, and kids very welcome. We very much enjoyed our first experience today - thanks for fitting us in! Staff advises us that you really need to book if you are going for lunch, even during the week.

Good choice of sandwiches, cakes and light meals in a spacious cafe with a little hidden garden for outdoor seating. Nice service a decent food, if a bit twee/shabby-chic for my taste. Ask to leave bikes in the garden - neighbours not keen on bikes in the next door access path.
