Been today for the first time - I had a large carvery (chose beef) the food tasted amazing and the beef was cooked to perfection, my husband had steak, chicken and cheese fondue - the steak was cooked as he liked, the chicken strips were tasty and would definitely come back! Would recommend this pub!.
Met here for breakfast with the car club good food Great staff. Make sure you enter you registration or you will get a ticket. This is not a pub car park
Called in today for a carvery. It was very busy, being Sunday lunchtime, but every team member was polite, cheerful, proactive and friendly. We got a table quickly to say we hadn't booked, the guy serving us drinks was pleasant, and the person serving the meats at the carvery was calm, efficient and greeted every customer. Always think that must be a tricky job working under that heat but a colleague of his stepped seamlessly in to work with him and it was like a well-oiled machine! Someone visited our table to check we had all we needed. Also one of the tastiest carveries we've had in ages. My husband commented he thought the Yorkshire puddings were perfect and the veg wasn't over-cooked and mushy. Great, friendly staff, great service and a great lunch. Thank you!
Great place to go for food or drink, the atmosphere is friendly and warming. Bar staff and management are incredibly nice and accommodating. Never had any issues in this place and lastly the carvery is amazing!
Can get really busy. No pork is available, only turkey ham beef on the carvery. Rest was ok not very hot just warm veg. Price is ok. Can only taste thyme in the stuffing not the sage n onion in the suffing. Meat was very fatty last time I went. Pot luck I guess. We've had good n ok meals there.
Ate here today for the first time with my father and, honestly, wow.
My father ordered the standard carvery and I got an incredible plate of steak and chicken with cheese fondue. We had 0 faults about the place. The establishment was clean and inviting and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming and I cannot fathom the quality of the food coming from this place.
My father's carvery was exquisite. The meat was juicy and hot, the vegetables were all perfectly cooked with their own incredible flavours and the rich hot gravy was the perfect topper, never mind the large array of available sauces.
My meat and cheese fondue meal was equally brilliant. The steak was tender, juicy and flavourful and the cheese fondue in the freshly baked bread was to die for. We had smiles on our faces from our first mouthful to our last.
This is quite possibly the finest place to eat in Doncaster.
We will most definitely be back, hungry for more.
The carvery was brill, first time calling because it was convenient and I would go out of my way to come again. Carvery was lovely on a Monday aswell did not expect much but pleasantly surprised. Great service, great location
We have been a lot of times. Firstly, the car park is plenty big enough. Weekdays it's fairly quiet but the carvery is only on until 2.30 then reopens at 4.30 so don't come in the middle if you want carvery, we have forgot a few times. Weekends it's super busy, both in the restaurant and the play area.
It's good prices, not too bad for steak, fish and chips, gammon, lasagne - but veggie options there is a meat free burger, halloumi fries and bang bang cauliflower. Being a veggie and not having carvery can be pretty disappointing.
There is lots of drinks available, I'd say they're on the pricey side of things but everything is going up. There are kids drinks from squash or milk to slush. I will note, if ordering a slush bring your own metal or reusable straw as your straw will disintegrate.
There is a wacky warehouse. Its pretty small and not a lot to do in it, but I'd say if your kids like enclosed twirly slides and punch bags they will love it. There are 2 permanent Ball pools and a separate space for under 2s. I've included pictures of the 3 areas.
You can buy a monthly or 6 monthly pass for the wacky and visit many of them around South yorkshire. We have found a few better than here, but this is the closest so most convenient.
They do a tots club which include painting sticking and gluing, this is on during kids being at school, but great for preschoolers or homeschooling children.
There are pub tables in the wacky side, which honestly is great.
Incredible pints. lovely atmosphere the carvery was incredible better than my mums overcooked burnt beef that she does on a Sunday and Faye the manager is top class even showed my pal how to screen shot on his phone.
Lovely place and will likely go again. Dropped one star cos as a first time visitor, having been pointed in the right direction for the ladies room, I didn't realise till almost too late, there is a dartboard and my path and the darts path almost collided. Only option was to detour around a largish table full of about 8 or 10 drinkers, almost into the gents to get to the ladies. As there was a child playing darts, it did not feel safe trying to cross their path
