it was very busy on school mid term holiday friday. eleven of us were turned up 1:10pm without booking. unfortunately, the pub had an upstairs room which accommodated. otherwise we would be hunting food elsewhere. the service was good and the meals ordered were delicious. arrived 12:20pm on wednes
We were at a breakfast meeting and there was another group in also for their breakfast. We had a full English and it was spot on. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking were excellent. The character of the pub is traditional and even though we were only in for breakfast there was a good atmo
Went for lunch whilst visiting Wentworth . The steak & Ale pie was homemade , filled with delicious steak - generous helping and throughly enjoyable . Dog friendly - which is a plus +
We had the hand battered halloumi fries, the hand cut chip butty with veggie gravy and the roasted tomato and pepper puff pastry tart. All of this washed down with a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Lunch doesn't get much better. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly.
Always great. Very welcoming atmosphere, usually got the fire in. And there's always a different hand pull in, something you've probably not seen before. Food I've not tried, but I've heard it's good. Massive beer garden, bar in the back too, weather permitting. Not the cheapest pint, but you're
Popped in for an evening meal which turned out to be very nice ! We both chose a salmon flake linguine in sauce which was lovely ! I washed mine down with a pint of ale and we both toddled back to our digs satisfied. Highly recommend the food and a visit
I would high recommend this pub if you want a nice relaxed visit with great quality food and service. 😊 We popped in for lunch Monday afternoon and had a great experience. We sat in the snug area which was nice and quiet with lots of room. We had the steak and ale pie which was the best quality pie
Had afternoon tea for 12 people. The food is excellent and plentiful. They were happy to box up leftovers for us to take home. Staff were friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Catering for vegetarian was excellent. Would definitely go again. Highly recommend it.
A lovely couple came in, a great looking nurse type and a biker looking distaste of a man! The lady was quizzical and fun and seemed at ease with the surrounding of the environment, the dirty biker sucked his vape and nodded at no one in particular. Whom of a beer would you like said the grizzled ma
Another lovely visit for lunch today, good food and onion rings were spot on.
Went for a dessert after the keys. Had the sticky toffee pudding. Not as moist as others I've had, more of a fluffy sponge but was still lovely. Lovely garden, felt like a proper locals pub. Food looked amazing, will hopefully make it back for dinner.
I have been a customer here since 1982, or there abouts. The place has not changed, both inside or outside much. I visited for lunch after a break of around 4 years: it was fantastic! I had the pheasant gujons & the partridge crown, bot excellent. My wife the lamb which was also brilliant. The beer
Pick here for Sunday lunch as they had plenty of outdoor space. Excellent meal but was disappointed that no one working for the pub had a mask on. We didn't feel comfortable and probably won't go again.
Had a lovely evening meal with the family , everyone enjoyed it , the food was good , price was just right, staff are friendly and helpful. On a nice day the garden has plenty of tables, and food is served outside if you like
What a lovely place, great decor and brilliant staff. Had a lunch with my Mum. Staff were friendly and other guests welcoming. Food was good, very large portions and tasty. Best onion rings ever!! Will visit again when back in the area.
Didn't eat. Good range of reasonably priced drinks. Lovely place.
