I took my mum for afternoon tea on the steam train as she has always wanted to go. I had a few requests for slight tweaks such as green tea for her, and they were fantastic at every stage. If you wish to see most classes of shunter in very good condition, then the Heritage Shunters Trust at Peak Rail Rowsley South is the place to visit - personal tours are given by the friendly volunteers on Saturdays.
Wonderful little railway. From what I understand, its very fairly priced for the time and experience you get.
Had a weekend with Derbyshire Bcc in the yard next to the tracks
Lovely trip on the steam train from Darley Dale to Matlock and then back through DD to Rowsley South. A good wander around the stations and a decent cup of coffee plus home made Scones enhanced the day out
After a long break, we returned to Peak Rail to find a renewed enthusiasm from my former colleagues there. The atmosphere was positive and friendly and we'll not leave it so long before we go again.
