I took my mum for afternoon tea on the steam train as she has always wanted to go. I had a few requests for slight tweaks such as green tea for her, and they were fantastic at every stage. I could not rate this highly enough. She had the best day and so did I. The food was great, the cabin was wonderful, and the staff were all amazing. Thank you for making my mum happy.

Whilst staying in the area we decided to visit the Peak Valley Railway. Having purchased a round trip ticket we were taken from Rowsley to Matlock. The train was top and tailed by 2 industrial steam engines. They made light work of the load and arrived in Matlock on time. The ticket allows you to come back on a later train so we had a 2 hour visit to Matlock Town centre. The line, although relatively short was quite scenic and there was plenty to see. Rowsley Station is the home to the engine sheds and many items of stock were seen. Visits to the shed aren't allowed which is a shame but typical for most railways. A pleasant day out would highly recommend.

Good place to visit if a rail enthusiast or even a day out for just a train ride to Matlock. Small cafe selling scones and jam and a good selection of cakes. Toilet facilities including disabled available on the station. Would visit again.

Great 1940s weekend. Sadly not advertised very well, & coincided with other local free events. This led to a small public audience compared to previous years.

Lovely trip along the side of the river Derwent between Rowsley South and Matlock. It's quite a short trip but the scenery is beautiful and the volunteers are very welcoming.

We visited Peak Rail a couple weeks ago and the whole experience was absolutely delightful from start to finish. Highly recommended. Totally different from the Severn Valley and Great Central. It was great to see the Robert Stevenson & Hawthorn 0-4-0 working hard. ALL the staff were friendly and informative giving the visit a really nice feel. Rowsley is probably best for parking.

Fantastic steam train day out for the whole family, went on a children go free day, it’s £15 per adult for a return but if you go for the 11am train you can get the train to Matlock spend the day in Matlock and catch the last train back! It’s great there’s a lovely cafe serving refreshments the staff were all very friendly and professional! Drinks and food reasonably priced! Could also bring a picnic to enjoy. Lovely fun day out for anyone that loves trains thank you

Absolutely brilliant day had at Rowsley South Railway, the Yorkshire group have got a small layout in one of the Carriages, set up to run Electric & if you spot the escaped Gorilla they will let you run an engine. The station is brilliant, lovely cafe run by 2 lovely ladies, nice teas & coffee all day & breakfast cobs & a nice midday menu. There is a shop & also 🚻 on the station. They have ran a diesel engine & also Saddle tank engine, which this afternoon did a lovely afternoon tea, which looked lovely. The last train came in at 4 filled with happy families. Well done to you all thank you 😊

Wonderful little railway. From what I understand, its very fairly priced for the time and experience you get.

Lovely trip on the steam train from Darley Dale to Matlock and then back through DD to Rowsley South. A good wander around the stations and a decent cup of coffee plus home made Scones enhanced the day out

After a long break, we returned to Peak Rail to find a renewed enthusiasm from my former colleagues there. The atmosphere was positive and friendly and we'll not leave it so long before we go again.
