This pub has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere! I had never been there before but I felt really at home chatting and drinking with the locals. I also had some food which was spot on but definitely recommend it and I'll definitely be back! Lovely pub and lovely people. Thanks guys x

Food was really good. Atmosphere was also good. Staff knew what they were doing. Everything ran like clockwork. No long waits. The chicken was amazing My friend had the beef that slid right off the bone. Perfect

Attended a birthday party at the British Queen. Searched got a place to stay and a room at the British Queen came up. Booked it had a great time at the party. The room was fabulous, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. For the money it was the best place I’ve ever stayed at.

“Special” specials! We visit the British Queen quite often and it honestly never disappoints. The setting is incredible with a huge family friendly garden, loads of places to sit, a new teepee for the when you need shade or wanna dodge a bit of British rain but still enjoy a beer outside. It’s our favourite place to go all year round and has just about everything else you’d want from a cute village pub. Today we enjoyed the most amazing panko chicken burger in the sun with a tasty cold beer. Lunch, dinner or just some drinks, you need this pub in your life!

Good B&B. Service was exceptionally good and great breakfast. Location is so-so but ok if you have a car. The room standard was beyond expectations for a B&B. Reocmmended for a short stay in Melburn. Also ok for business travellers as the rooms have a large desk.

We had an overnight stay as we were attending a venue elsewhere. The outdoor area was busy when we arrived in the early afternoon with people who were local. (Overheard their conversations!) The weather was pleasant. We were shown our room which was separate from the main pub. The room was clean, bright and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the breakfast in the pub in a dining area the following day, although there was a mixup with the time as we had requested 8am when asked the day before. When we were let into the pub we were told the kitchen had been advised 9am. There was no menu or detail regards what a cooked breakfast consisted of, and other couples too were unsure when asked what they wanted. The dining room would have benefitted from some soft background music. The cooked breakfast was delicious Although the toast arrived a short while before and we had not been asked what type of bread we wanted, it was assumed one slice of each between us. When we had checked out we met the owner outside who asked about our stay. We were happy to tell him we liked the room and breakfast, but would suggest a better system regards timings and a menu. Apparently there should have been a form for us to complete upon arrival which would have had all the details required for breakfast selection. The gentleman who showed us to our room the day should have dealt with this. The pub itself has plenty of outdoor seating and a pleasant view to the rear. There is a short walk you can take from the rear along a river. I would stay here again and would recommend it for a good place to stop for food and an overnight stay. Overall decent value for money, just needed a slicker service for overnight guests.

Epic! I love this restaurant. We go really often with both workmates and also with my family. The food is nice and the staff are very friendly. We also like the garden the have in the backyard.

Enjoyable stay overnight, whilst attending a wedding event. Bit disappointed, room looks OK, but cracked wall, shower cubicle leaked, shower rail broken, fire alarm taped up. Best thing was the breakfast

Really lovely pub, the staff were all really attentive and chatty. We enjoyed plenty of drinks, starters and mains. Warm cosy atmosphere would recommend the steak, fish and chips, salmon special and vegetarian Wellington. All tasty, hot and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble.

I went for a countryside walk and saw the review about the pub. I went over the little bridge that starts the walk and turned left. The pub was over a bridge with a private entrance. Lovely little walk! The pub was so cute!!

Met friends here as halfway between our homes. Found the pub by chance on the internet. Very pleased with our food and the homemade soup was really delicious, as were the mains. Very good value for money. Will definitely use The British Queen again.
