Have been in a few times recently for Sunday roast, and despite turning up towards the end of evening service I've had excellent food and friendly service every time.
The roasts are excellent quality and value, with a good selection of beer on tap and from cask, plus some varied starters too - haggis wontons the last time, for example.
With the added bonus of not having to wash up, will be going back plenty in the future.

We had heard about the new owner, who had a good reputation and went for lunch as wasn't disappointed. The quality of the produce was there to see. The menu was simple and uncluttered. I had the kidneys followed by the bull burger £11, partner had sausage and mash £9. Probably didn't need the starter because there was plenty of mains, but it was far too tempting. As you would expect from a butcher, the meat, burgers and sausages were excellent. And proper chips. There was also a good choice of beers with some local breweries. Shame I was driving.
The whole menu was reasonably priced.

Bery nice steak, buy a bottle of wine and get 2 steaks. We have been enjoying this deal for weeks now and every week its a joy. Nice pub nice food, very nice wine :)

The food was delicious, and we had the Sunday roast so the price wa a bargain, hardly seems worth cooking at home when you can get food this good for a very reasonable price!

Well what a pleasant surprise this pub is. 4 cask ales that change on a regular basis. Friendly staff and reasonably priced food and drinks. Menu is varied n has a lot of special offers on . portions are of good size and all home cooked. .And also has car parking to the side I had the roast dinner n it's very very good all freshly prepared .

We love coming to the bull. Verity always looks after us and makes us feel welcome. When the ladies come from up the road the men always want fish fingers butties and they are always accommodated how many landladies would buy these in preparation knowing at some point we will be in and the men mithering for ridiculous food... we will be in this Friday to start the xmas weekend and xmas day to join in the fun games
