A lovely few days at Crow How despite the rain. Great location for exploring the lakes and within walking distance of Ambleside. Room was spotless and well equipped, excellent breakfast and delightful owner. Would definitely recommend.
This is a beautiful hotel. The room I had was massive and had brilliant views. Only a 15 min walk into town and pavements all the way, so felt safe. The service was good, breakfast was fast, tasty and organised. Plenty of information and reception staff are there for additional information. If you want to stay in Ambleside, this hotel is the perfect location.

The place was gorgeous, excellently located a short walk from ambleside with outstanding access to a variety of local walks, guides for which are provided in the room.
The breakfast included is fantastic and the staff are accommodating.

Absolutely adored our stay here at Crow How Country guest house. The location was perfect and is within walking distance of Ambleside town and beautiful picturesque walks. The room was cosy, clean, spacious and had a very homely feel. It looked out onto beautiful views which made it all the more amazing! I loved the breakfast and the service was second to none. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and no problem was too big or small. I have already recommended this place to my friends and I will definitely be returning in the future! If you want a peaceful, relaxing stay this is definitely the place to stay!
Friendly staff, comfortable room, great breakfast with pretty varied choices. The location has good access for Ambleside and Grassmere. They do have a bit of a thing about no takeaway food in your room, the in room info book is a bit OTT in what will be done if you stain or mark anything. But otherwise its a lovely place to stay
Loved our stay.
The room was a great size but homely, very clean with cosy bedding.
There was plenty of options for tea coffee or hot chocolate in the room, fridge was handy for lunches the next day.
The bathroom was lovely, good water pressure which is always important! Nice fluffy white towels. The toiletries were locally sourced which I thought was a great touch, they smelt gorgeous too.
Breakfast was great both days. Really quick service and a good choice.
The hosts were really welcoming and friendly, made good recommendations for food and just generally made us at home.

The Crow How hotel is situated about a mile outside Amberside. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms large. The beds are very comfortable and there is ample space for clothes to be packed. The breakfasts are delicious. The only problem I can find is that I am too large for the bathtub!! (Not necessarily the Hotels problem!!) Very quiet place. Lovely decor. Well worth it.

We recently got married and booked Crow How for our mini moon. As a young lesbian couple we were a little apprehensive going to a new place and with it being our mini moon we didn't want our experience to be a bad one. When we got to Crow How we were greeted by Jill the owner who had upgraded our room. We stayed in room 1 which was amazing. It was a big room with a 4 poster bed and the bathroom was huge with a lovely deep bathtub and a walk in shower. The breakfast was lovely and the service at breakfast was fast, efficient and welcoming. During our stay both Jill and Andrew were helpful in giving advice about places to eat and directions etc. Most importantly, they treated us with respect and were genuinely really nice people. They made us feel welcomed and our stay was so good that returning home was difficult. I would highly recommend Crow How to anyone who is planning a trip to Ambleside. My wife and I have decided to only stay at Crow How from now on whenever we visit the lakes. Thank you Jill and Andrew for your lovely hospitality and please pass on our thanks to the lovely lady who served us breakfast.
Good position in very quiet location, short walk into Ambleside. Rooms comfortable and breakfast good quality.
