Review The Oak - Rye Foreign

What can I say. The Oak is everything you want from a country pub. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. We went there as they clearly marked VE and GF food on their menus, something a lot of other pubs need to start to do. Easily the best pub food we've had in the area for a while. Beer battered fish and chips, super crispy batter, proper pub chips, seafood linguine hoovered up almost instantly, chicken tikka masala and the vegan burger all excellent. Empty plates all round. We sat in the garden but inside looked really nice as well. We will be back.

Booked for lunch for 6 people, arrived early but no problem. Friendly welcome, efficient service & good food. What more do you need?

Went for Sunday lunch, it was delicious, one of the best if not the best Sunday lunches we have had out, everything was cooked to perfection, staff were friendly and attentive and well priced, can't wait to return

Excellent Sunday roast beef, good selection of beers, craft beers, wine & spirits. Staff super helpful, singer on Sunday was added bonus to a great family lunch, catered for 9 of us with ease.

Nice cosy country pub close to our campground. Food was great, atmosphere and service were both good.

Lovely pub would be great in the winter with the fire and summer with outdoor seating available. The food was lovely. We definitely will return to try something else.

The service was fantastic, we had a table for 8, every single person enjoyed their meals, couldn't fault the staff - we all said it was one of the best meals we had eaten. Went back to The Oak tonight and had another fantastic experience, Megan was great! Customer service was excellent,the food was so nice
