Popped in for dinner, all 4 meals were good quality, fresh, well prepared and decent portions. Excellent service (a bit on the familiar side, but doesn’t bother us, certainly friendly, helpful, attentive and prompt). I had liver and bacon and have to say it was one of the best bits of liver I have had for years, done just right. Fish pie was good, fish n chips good, burger was a monster. Nice ales on tap, dog friendly. Very happy overall. Seems you can only leave a review for the hotel, didn’t stay there, just had dinner. Went back for a drink a few nights Le later, warm welcome, well run bar. Bravo!
We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. The pub has nicely appointed rooms and you can feel the history in the oak beamed bar. The bed was really comfy but the shower could do with a bit more oomph. Overall the food was good. The full English and the fish and chips were the highlights. Downside is there is no car park so you will have to use the pay car park close by or take your chances on the road outside.
The service was great and the food was really good standard pub grub! Close to the station so great to get a bite to eat before getting the train out. Decently priced too!
I recently stayed at The Ship Inn and found that the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the bedroom was clean and tidy, and very comfortable bed, had a Nespresso coffee machine but no kettle, the only downside to our room was that the sink in the bathroom was very small so difficult to wash and shave. Breakfast in the morning was freshly cooked, unfortunately no toast and orange juice which was disappointing. The location was perfect as close to town centre, however there is no pub parking so you need to park on a meter. This is a budget accommodation and is well worth staying at and would recommend staying for a weekend
The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. We stayed the night , room was fine clean and tidy with a bathroom or though a little on the small side. Would stay again.
We had a late lunch here. The chicken grill was quite hearty and the burger was a wonderful interplay of meat and team, both highly recommended. Good experience with a relaxed atmosphere and flexible staff.
Staff were wonderful. Breakfast great. Our room was on the top floor and the fan insufficient to have the room at a reasonable temperature. Otherwise a great place.
Fantastic pub/hotel with prime location. We stayed for the tennis tournament which was down the road. The hotel was clean and service was fantastic. They were busy with lots of bookings but made the time to make us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed
Stayed one night in June whilst biking Cantii Way. Very good value, esp for Rye. Efficient online booking/ check in, friendly greeting, good service and excellent breakfast. Yes room small, and hot in summer - but it's an old building! and bed was comfy. Only gripe (hence 4*) was no hot water at 8pm, but luckily we were so hot from 100km bike that it was fine!
We had the most delightful stay here. The room was lovely, quiet, very comfy bed, and the staff were super friendly. It has a cosy, jolly, unpretentious but pleasant atmosphere, and is right at the bottom of the most gorgeous street in Rye close to everything. It was so much nicer than I expected (I didn't have low expectations, but it was so reasonably priced that I expected it to be more basic). Thanks!
Colleagues very friendly and helpful. Great range of local ciders and beers as well as the more well known varieties.
Food was good value for money and tasty. Quite a small selection but we all found something that we liked....if you like Cider can thoroughly recommend Jakes Cider.
Brilliant staff, and great food! Friendly, helpful and would definitely come back again. Thank you for a great meal!
Lovely traditional pub just outside the town walls, with a nice open yard. Good selection of local ales, too. Live music when we went, which was excellent.
The young man who seemed to be in charge was very attentive and polite. Barmaid lovely. Very good experience. Was there sat afternoon 19 Aug. The only slight negative is that its quite dark in there.
We had a great stay , the Hush Heath suite was so spacious
Fabulous comfy enormous bed , the only issue was the mattress protector and bottom sheet did not fit properly
The coffee maker is used for a kettle but doesn’t get the water hot enough for tea
Evening meal and breakfast was excellent t
The staff are so helpful and friendly

Visited for the Jazz festival got very busy, saw a good few acts, bar staff very welcoming and friendly and great atmosphere.
Great pub/hotel. We were at the top of the building in a room with the best, most enormous bed. So comfortable. It was a spotless room and bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and polite.
