Lovely local Italian restaurant that serves delicious and authentic food. It’s been so nice that they’ve stayed open during lockdowns for take away and we can’t wait to go back soon. Super reasonably priced for an at home date night.

Picked up a takeaway from The Gate last night and it was excellent. I was given an allocated time slot to collect and the food was boxed up and ready to go when I walked in. Hand sanitizer available to use as well.
Had the sea bass ravioli and when dished up at home it was of the same high standard as when eating it at the restaurant and still piping hot. Highly recommend if you want a night off from cooking.

Very unassuming from the outside but well worth a visit. The fresh stone baked pizzas are very good and so to is the pasta. Easily the best Italian restaurant and pizza take-out in Saffron Walden. Highly recommend.

I've visited twice for dinner and not been disappointed either time. The outside of the building isn't great, but don't let that put you off - it's worth going in! The inside is like a mini-Tardis - there are quite a few tables.
The food each time has been great, the people have been lovely, and the price has been very reasonable.
I'll be going back!
