Went to Captain Cod tonight to get a fish and chip supper for the family. Very friendly staff and good quality fish and chips. Not a scrap left on our plates. Generous portions. I originally come from Grimsby so know a decent piece of fish when I see it and Captain Cod is decent!

Nothing better on a winter's evening than to pop in here for some good old fish and chips. The decor is very retro which adds to the occasion if eating inside. One missed trick, like a certain chippy in Northwich, would be to offer a chilled bottle on the menu. Great food. Give it a try.

Great, old school local chippy, all the traditional fare. Chips are soft and lovely, good batter on the cod. Bring cash!

The fish was good and the chips were a bit average. That said, the staff are very friendly. I probably wouldn't go to anyone else in Sale.

Great food, great staff (considering it's just the two of them) and pretty quick service. Would totally recommend. Only thing is that there is no delivery.

It's the best chippy in the north of England bar none. Formica tables, crap posters, the alluring whiff of vinegar and the best staff ever. It's chippy perfection. End of.
