First of all I hate having to badly rate any restuarant or business owned by normal people. Thelma's was by far my favorite Home Cooked food years ago. Now it's a sad, dark, dirty, and depressing place. I don't know what has happened but some hard work and new staff might help!! The recipes are there and they are amazing but the cooks must not have any passion. The dining area was completely silent (except for our family) all the while the cooks were loud, cutting up, and blaring rap music. With only a few customers our food still took over an hour. My sides were all delicious and chicken was good. Just not as good as it once was. My husband's Cheesesteak was sad and completely cold. Then when sent back was placed in the microwave.. 😖 Luckily our waitress was kind enough to take it off. He ended up not eating.
This all makes me so sad because of the potential that this place has. But potential without passion will not make it!! Praying someone comes along and cleans house before the doors get closed!!!

The food came to our table flowing over the sides of the plate, hot, and smelling good. The only thing better than the presentation was the taste. Everything was seasoned to perfection, I had to order a plate to go. The wait staff is extremely friendly with every person checking on our table even though he/she was not our designated waitress. By the time we were ready to go, every waitress and even the cook had come to our table. Their attentiveness overshadowed the minor things they forgot-- a lid for my sauce and my extra piece of cornbread. I will definitely be back!

Food was great!! We were in booth 12. The only issues we had was that the waitress took a long time to bring our drinks. We were almost done eating before we got our drinks. We never had a chance to get refills. We ended up getting to-go cups. We had to get our own utensils, and the lighting was dark in there because most of the lightbulbs had burned out. My husband was waiting at the cash register to pay and the waitresses told the owner 3 times that he waiting to pay. It wasn't like this the 1st time we came.
I hope this bad service doesn't continue.

Food is good, plenty of seating and southern hospitality. Area at one end for larger groups and that's wheelchair/scooter accessible. Nice music but can sometimes be a bit loud for my elderly dad. Lots of southern type menu items and a good variety of sides and desserts. Staff members are pleasant and friendly. The orders go directly from electronic tablets carried by the waitresses to the kitchen so the orders get processed faster even if the waitresses stay at your table to chat with you a bit. Nice touch. Yay for technology!
