Koyla Grille

We were visiting Sea World from Houston and afterwards we were looking for a good place to have dinner. As we got out at 10PM when the park closes we knew it would be hard to find a place that was open till late that served great food. Luckily we found Koyla. It is open until 2AM has a great family environment and serves great food. The grill items are excellent! The menu is reasonably priced and has something for everyone. They also have a drink corner, the Lassi was excellent. Despite being from Houston with so many Indian and Pakistani Restaurants I have not tasted good food like this in a while.

Koyla offers a few great things but also loads of not so great things. The grilled items are marinated very nicely. The spice blend is really unique when compared to similar Indo-Pak restaurants in town. The grilling is great but not impeccable in the sense that you will still find meat that is burnt heavily. But the grill /tandoor items are definately the hallmark of Koyla. The Nans are also really good. Butter chicken is near perfect! For the Vegetarians, the Saag Paneer / Paneer based curries are highly recommended. The not so great things include a reckless amount of oil in all of their foods. While oil certainly adds to the taste of Indo-Pak food, the oil in the food served at Koyla is just insane and flat out unhealthy. Occasionally on their buffet, you will find rotten items (watch out particularly for chicken biryani). The service is inconsistent.
