New Alternatives Cafe

We really enjoyed the outdoor seating and family-run vibe. The waitress's son helped lend a hand cleaning, and it was hilarious and adorable to watch. The food was good. The coffee was good too; my tastes tend to run on the sweeter side, and this coffee was certainly acidic, but in an ok way ;) The avocado was perfect.

This is a tiny but lovely neighborhood cafe, off-the-beaten path. Apparently very popular for couples' brunch and among locals. The staff is very warm, they know half of the patrons personally :-) My order was delicious (see my huevos rancheros on the photo), and they have a very creative range of meals and drinks that I am dying to try. The interior is cozy, and their tableware very pretty. That said, the two TVs hurt the atmosphere. The cafe is kid-friendly, having a high chair as well as a kid's corner. This is not a very good place to work simply because it's so tiny: Not much space to camp yourself. That said, I will try to visit again for a breakfast.

Gaffeo coffee. I've only found this coffee in one other small coffee shop. It's the best. Another San Francisco staple. Most places you see just an employee going through the motions. This little cafe is a jewel. The owner is there making sure your order is what you asked for. It's clean the food is fresh and after working downtown the price is right. IMO we should all embrace this little cafe.

Small coffee shop in the Mission/Noe Area, I wouldn't know about about it except it is only a few blocks walk from my house and I often walk here and get some fresh squeezed OJ and a breakfast Burrito. They have a nice small outside seating area and inside with wifi. Service and food preparation is slow with often only one person working but they make up for it in friendliness. The menu has a huge selection of items on it including sandwiches, Omelets and quiche. I am pretty please with the breakfast burrito .

I like breakfast options and their food in general, but every time I get a cup of latte there I can help but think - wow, this is the shittiest latte I had in a long time! Being a coffee shop I don't think they place enough effort / attention in learning how to and then making - a good cup of coffee.
