I visited the Cricketers for the first time yesterday (Sunday 17 May 2018) and found the experience lovely.
The food was gorgeous with a great menu to choose from. The service was lovely with staff happy to chat and give advise on the menu.
The overall feeling within the restaurant was relaxed and i would recommend the venue to anyone who wants a relaxed enjoyable meal in a wonderful setting

Love this pub for the food, staff, ambience, real fires, cosyness and Dog friendly too which I love...just wine a bit too costly for what it is! 3 large wines just under £25 if they sort that out it would be a 10/10
Had a lovely spur of the moment meal here last night. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. Chips were perfect!
Nice wine list and overall not too pricey. Will return, thank you!
Friendly, welcoming place. The staff make you feel so welcome and offer good advice over deciding what to order on their menu as there are so many choices. Food was delicious....well cooked and presented. Great ambience here too. If you're looking for a country pub with quirkyness, style, excellent & tasty good with great service.....then look no further. Thank you for a great night.xx
We rate the food and atmosphere here. Last night the open fire was alight and added to the comfort and homeliness of this pub. The service is generally very good especially behind the bar. Like most places it's the staff that make or break any place - so we know it's the management that deserves the credit.
Good service, God wine and fantastic food, seven of enjoyed everything we had, not one grumble and were grumpy old men/woman that like to critic.
Always love the Cricketers. Just a lovely, sweet pub with great food and lots of atmosphere. Quirky little nooks and crannys all over. The crispy beef salad was amazing tonight.
Excellent pub with friendly staff and excellent beers. Highly recommended.
Best food, best staff..... Would recommend Crickters to anyone
Exceptional pub with small restaurant... Food was fabulous really great friendly service too. We will definitely be back !
A delicious Sunday roast, waitress & kitchen was very attentive for a member of our party who is gluten free. Service was lovely and welcoming with our children too!!
Lovely setting
Great food and service
Highly recommend
We have just had a wonderful evening at The Cricketers with lovely food and our waiter Aidan was great, such a pleasant young man.
Superb meal this evening at The Cricketers. Great comfortable surroundings too. Thank you.
Great pub, very friendly staff and excellent food...5 stars
Went for Sunday roast with out friends and their kids. Food was so good and plenty of it. Kid friendly and offers board games to Keep them amused. Great ambiance and friendly staff.
Excellent food, excellent service, lovely decor and a really warm environment. Sunday roast was superb
First time visitor will return couldn’t find any faults
Food was amazing in a beautiful setting with lovely, friendly staff!
Lovely atmosphere really friendly staff setting beautiful returning for lunch soon
Nice food and reasonably priced. The location is nice and the staff are very polite. Venue is tidy and well kept. The toilets had some issues but can’t be helped with an old building and when staff were informed they were already working on it and it was fixed quickly.
S P E C T A C U L A R. Elaborated food. One of the best I've ever tried in pubs. Very good atmosphere.
Friendly and professional service.
The village is wonderful for those who like to walk . A thousand possibilities.
We will definitely come back.
Went with friends for lunch, nice friendly staff, good menu. Starters were nice, but our mains of chicken pie with mashed potatoes 🥔 was cold, didn't want to make a scene, so put the very good hot sauce on as much mash as we could .
We have been here a few times and the food and service never disappoints. The menu has a creative flair and changes with the seasons so there is always something new to discover. I had the parsnip and pear soup which was delicious followed by the lamb of shoulder which was melt-in-the-mouth amazing. My boyfriend had the steak, ale and mushroom pie which was very tasty. The staff are always attentive and welcoming and the interior is a combination of cosy, country and modern. This has quickly become our favourite place to eat and we look forward to our next visit.
Food was great, staff were great, pub was lovely. Everyone was very welcoming and attentive. Thank you for also taking note of us having an an elderly person in our group and seating us where it was warm with some heating. The attentive details matter. Thanks.
I consider myself a regular here and I always enjoy my meal. However tonight’s roast beef was exceptional! Potentially the best of my life…Every single aspect was incredible! Outstanding meal in a beautiful pub.
Never been here before, but nice warm welcome, very clean and tidy, cosy, old but new as well!
Good looking menu and Christmas options, we enjoyed a goats cheese and fig brûlée starter, my wife had delicious tortellini(and I mean delicious) and I had the rich and tasty venison pie.
Service was spot on..friendly, informative and quick.
Great place to eat, thoroughly enjoyed it.
All the food we ordered was superb. Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time, and the staff were really friendly. We'll be definitely visiting again and would recommend.
Chilly Thursday in mid-February. Warm and welcoming indoors. Lucky enough to get a table by the log burner. Excellent starters, mains and desserts menu; also a Lite Bites selection available until 5pm. Staff friendly and efficient.
Really great pub with a great menu - staff were really attentive and the service was great. Premises were clean. Quality of food was excellent. Garden seating really good too - covered with heaters and dog friendly. Went above and beyond to accommodate 12 of us at short notice. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend a visit.
Delicious food, great ambience, friendly staff and pet friendly too.
My mum and I come across The Cricketers Sunday early afternoon. Upon arrival I asked if we needed to book a table ,this very kind, helpful member of staff checked if they had room and we were offered a table.
The young member of staff was so polite, helpful and friendly.
We had coffee, which was so delicious and creamy , served with these amazingly homemade bite sized flapjacks ( they were the best flapjacks I've ever had!!).
We also had fries, halloumi fries, Red Pepper hummus and pitta bread and a salad and it was all absolutely delicious, so much flavour! All our food and drinks were served perfectly with such great customer service ,friendly staff and always so helpful.
Parking was very easy too, lots of spaces if you get there early.
The pub was clean & tidy. Plenty of room and seating. The toilets were also so very clean.
We will definitely be returning.
Fabulous food and great service. Well laid out pub, even when busy it doesn't feel crowded. Very attentive service without being intrusive. Would definitely go back.
A very good venue, lovely surroundings, pleasant and friendly staff, good food. What more can you want? My friends had coq au vin pie which looked great and they said was delicious.
Popped in for an impromptu lunch and a coffee. Nice ambience and perfect lighting. In regards to my lunch, I can say it was the best Turkey, bacon and brie ciabatta I have ever had.
Great selection of mains and we were really happy with our steak sandwich and chicken and ham pie. Good service and pleased that we weren't seated too close to other diners. Only one disappointment - waffle for dessert was really stodgy and doughy - shame because everything else was great.
A very busy car park and pub in a lovely setting. The food was quickly served and well presented. Alicia was an excellent waitress. Food was good rather than excellent and good value for the location. A great centre for a walk of the Chess Valley. Checkout AllTrails app for details of the walk.
