We dined and drank here 3 days running and had amazing food every time. The place was short staffed so the doormen were clearing and cleaning the tables to help out. They were happy to do it and they were always friendly and chatty. The bar staff were amazing even though they were so busy and TRACEY in particular gave us brilliant service and the best gin & tonic ever. One night they had very difficult customers who were extremely rude and refusing to pay their bill. The staff handled them really well even though the awful people left without paying! I would highly recommend this place :) if I'm in Saundersfoot again I will definitely return x
First time having food here since the kitchen refit. Lovely food, reallty tasty, massive portions, couldn't finish my food.
Great place for New Years Eve with children and dogs welcome. No paid entry, George a great barmen, really friendly place punters and staff. They had a disco and didn't have any tables available for 10 adults and 2 children, but even though they were busy they were really friendly and made the pool table a table for us to sit around in the disco area which was also great. Free soft drinks for designated drivers. Great vibe! As soon as it hit 12 literally on the beach for fireworks. Great atmosphere would highly recommend.
Great burger, brie, mushroom, bacon, onion rings omg, so good, great beer as well, right on the busy corner so great to sit outside and people watch ha ha👍☀️☀️
A busy seaside bar. I couldn't score on the stars because it was a very busy bar, we didn't eat but it is worth calling in and enjoying a drink or two.
Beautiful food cooked to perfection , staff absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere! They have a live band every weekend, a great pub for food and great venue for bands and artists !
Had a good a day session and night celebrating my mates 60th, a gotime had by all.
Only came in for a beer, the barman, though busy, was friendly and efficient
We were made to feel very welcome with children and dogs. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was very good I had pizza which was very large and freshly made and husband had burger which he said was bang on 👌and they made cheesy chips for the kids. Would definitely go back in when we head back.

We had a lovely lunch here today. The pizza and the chips were excellent. The staff were friendly and it was fab just to sit in the sun and people watch for a bit. They have done wonders with the place and its looking really nice inside too.
After struggling to find somewhere in Saundersfoot on a bank holiday Sunday to eat and watch the football, we came across The Hean. No signs outside that said it did food, but when we went inside we discovered free tables, the footy on and a decent italian pizza menu. Three big screens, plenty of choice for drinks and really good food. Large portions and pizzas were home.made So nice! Staff were also really friendly and had a bit of banter with . We were lucky to find a down to earth place like this.

We had a pleasant surprise at the Hean Castle.
After reading all the negative reviews on TripAdvisor I was very reluctant to pop in.
I'm so pleased we did.
2 members of staff couldn't have been more helpful. Sam & Tracey are both very professional and caring for each and every customer. Making sure all track and trace forms completed correctly before service ect.
Due to table service only, they were running around in the stifling heat Making sure all tables had drinks. As soon as people left the tables were sanitised ready to serve new comers ect.
I'm really looking forward to seeing them again for breakfast as the food is amazing.
I asked one of the bar staff how come the reviews were disgusting about the Hean and she explained that its under new management. Due to the expenses we had. It's very clear to see that the old management have left a bad taste in other people's reviews.
It's only been 5 weeks under new management so if anyone is reading the old reviews this is the reason why from what I can see.
I would totally recommend trying this place out.
