Main's Restaurant

We were staying in Yoxford at a B&B and fancied a meal one night. We are quite particular about our food and usually eat in central London. To give a reference point Roka is our favourite restaurant of the moment. Mains has an unassuming exterior which carries through to inside. Simple art on the walls and unpretentious fittings & decor work well. Not expecting much I have to say we were blown away by the quality of the food. All the ingredients, where possible, are sourced locally and you can taste the freshness. The menu has enough options to be interesting - I went for the pork which was fantastic - perfectly cooked with crackling and local vegetables. Oh! Wine list was good - cheese and dessert wine to finish, fantastic. Service was welcoming and discreet. A great touch was that crayons are provided so you can doodle on the paper (it's better than it sounds) tablecloths. Highly recommended.
