My wife and I found this place by accident and we were so glad we did. The food is amazing!! I had Pan Fried Chicken in mushroom sauce and my wife had the same but with Stilton sauce. The portions were generous there was a great selection of vegetables and the food was piping hot. This really is a hidden gem. Thanks to the team who were really friendly and the chef who is the star of the show. Can't wait to go again!!

We love this place? The landlord is fantastic at his job, he has time to have a walk round and makes you feel very welcome. What I call a proppa landlord. The staff are second to none, so polite so helpful. We usually call for a Sunday lunch and it never fails. Top notch service top notch food. Well done team Bryherstones. See you again Mark & Debbie (Malton).

I couldn’t recommend this pub highly enough. We turned up tired and muddy but felt immediately welcome and at home. The food was brilliant - we had crab salad which was so fresh and delicious. It is cosy but spacious. The landlord is lovely and takes care over everything. I hope I can come again one day.

We went here because of a link my husband had with the family members of the past , childhood memories.
A lovely inn , friendly welcome and a good ambience.
Lots of memorabilia on the walls and interesting photos and pictures.
Wide menu choices , we had delicious starters and good fresh fish + Chicken mains.
So very tasty and well prepared.
Very attentive staff .
Sadly we had eaten well and so could not taste a desert from the delicious sounding list they had.
Good prices , good food and when we are in the area again we will undoubtedly return.

Last minute booking, which Paul kindly accommodated. Always lots of diners and a bit of a wait for our food, but as always it was very good: nice salmon, plenty of scampi and a large fish was part of our order. I love the fresh crab salad, but this soon goes, so be warned and place an order when booking your table. Staff work very hard at busy times, but there is always a warm welcome

We visit Bryherstones on most of our visits to Scarborough.
It is about 6 miles outside the town but is well worth the journey.
It has been in existence for since 1983 and is still with the same family but has just moved on a generation.
It really is a warm and friendly county style inn.
It is an old building with lots of little 'quirky' areas to sit , eat and drink. There is an outside eating area and a huge car park.
The different dining areas can accommodate from small to large parties, so not worry about getting a seat.
The menu just goes on and on and the food is excellent with some of the nicest chips I have ever eaten.
Thank you

Thank you for the perfect evening. We were a table of 10 and had a small dining room to ourselves with a huge round table.
Fab food and atmosphere but the best bit was the staff and owners... I couldn't recommend it enough! The wine and real ale was top notch. And the children were made a fuss of.
I recommend the lamb shank and the belly pork.... amazing.
Thanks again from the Hutchinson's

Me and my boyfriend eat here last night, I had scampi and Karlos had ham egg and chips.
The food was amazing! So tasty and the scampi was so fresh.
My boyfriend said he'd never had such a plate full of food in his life!!
After we had eaten we enjoyed a game of pool, darts and then the pub quiz.
It was a wonderful evening in a lovely country pub.
If you want some good pub grub, then this is the place to go!

Lovely place, very friendly staff. Sat outside for a while in the last of the sunshine, but went back in and "regretted" it as the smell of the lovely food had me drooling!! Will have to come back for a meal as it looked/smelled delicious but we'd only called in for a drink!!

We just popped in on the off chance we might get a table. Despite being very busy, they did their best to squeeze us in and I'm so glad they did. I had a crab salad, my husband a steak, and the children both had lasagne. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyed and the children even cleared their plates (a first!). The hospitality was great and we were treated like old friends. Will definitely recommend.

Fantastic pub with a huge warm welcome. They are Dog friendly too and welcomed ours with open arms; spoiled her rotten too with treats. We had a meal there this evening which was absolutely delicious with Steak to die for according to my Husband. My Lasagne was equally lovely with gorgeous home-made chunky chips and probably the best I've tasted anywhere. Only one problem, don't live anywhere near here and just visiting while on holiday. Good excuse to come back though or just move to Scarborough ... Very highly recommended!

We came here as a party of 11 for Sunday lunch prior to the Tom Jones concert at the Open Air Theatre. We were met by lovely, pleasant staff and sat in the beautiful garden having drinks while our food order was taken and prepared. We were then escorted to an amazing room with a huge round table accommodating us all. The food was magnificent, the garden area and drinks were lovely and only surpassed by the lovely, warm greeting and service we received from the owner and his staff. A tremendous experience - congratulations xx
