We went here because of a link my husband had with the family members of the past , childhood memories.
A lovely inn , friendly welcome and a good ambience.
Lots of memorabilia on the walls and interesting photos and pictures.
Wide menu choices , we had delicious starters and good fresh fish + Chicken mains.
So very tasty and well prepared.
Very attentive staff .
Sadly we had eaten well and so could not taste a desert from the delicious sounding list they had.
Good prices , good food and when we are in the area again we will undoubtedly return.

We visit Bryherstones on most of our visits to Scarborough.
It is about 6 miles outside the town but is well worth the journey.
It has been in existence for since 1983 and is still with the same family but has just moved on a generation.
It really is a warm and friendly county style inn.
It is an old building with lots of little 'quirky' areas to sit , eat and drink. There is an outside eating area and a huge car park.
The different dining areas can accommodate from small to large parties, so not worry about getting a seat.
The menu just goes on and on and the food is excellent with some of the nicest chips I have ever eaten.
Thank you

I couldn’t recommend this pub highly enough. We turned up tired and muddy but felt immediately welcome and at home. The food was brilliant - we had crab salad which was so fresh and delicious. It is cosy but spacious. The landlord is lovely and takes care over everything. I hope I can come again one day.

Last minute booking, which Paul kindly accommodated. Always lots of diners and a bit of a wait for our food, but as always it was very good: nice salmon, plenty of scampi and a large fish was part of our order. I love the fresh crab salad, but this soon goes, so be warned and place an order when booking your table. Staff work very hard at busy times, but there is always a warm welcome

I cannot praise this establishment highly enough, the friendliest staff, a genial host of the highest order, the ambiance, the music was like my own playlist (except the one UB40 track) and the food was absolutely out of this world! I heartily recommend the steak pie, made by the landlady's own fair hands, a true gourmets delight! The desserts are the stuff of legends. We went on my birthday, and was an awesome end to the day, without doubt the best meal we've both had, and we will definitely be visiting again. If you don't visit this place, you're insane, visit once, you'll be hooked. Thank you so much to Paul, Sally and the staff for making us feel so welcome and thoroughly enjoying our evening!

Had everything we were looking for and more after a run along the Ravenscar coast.
The landlord was very friendly and the food was stunning - the dressed crab was especially fresh, apparently caught the same morning (you need to reserve in advance though).

Lovely family pub with great staff and amazing homemade food.
The Steak pie is the best steak pie I have ever had, lovely tender chunks of steak and lots of them!
Would definitely recommend eating here

An oasis in a culinary desert as my wife calls it. Lovely food here, Pub grub but done very very well. The Haddock goujons were sublime, lightly and perfectly cooked (can have them as a starter or main) and the home made chicken liver Pate was gorgeous. Mains were the Pie for me (authentic shortcrust top) and was fab. My wife had the Chicken and mushroom sauce also lovely. Served with a mix of vegetables and real chips (delicious)
Beer is well kept and I've said it before, the Landlord and staff know how to look after you, nice atmosphere too! Well done all at Bryherstones, you never disappoint .. thank you!

Food was absolutely amazing. Top quality and quantity. Steak to die for. Best pastry my mates ever had! 8 of us out for a meal, food served quickly and all together. Kids play park, good Wi-Fi. Excellent customer service from the owner and his staff. Honestly, really worth a visit and treating yourself. Thanks Bryherstones staff, hats off to the chef 👍🏻

Thank you for the perfect evening. We were a table of 10 and had a small dining room to ourselves with a huge round table.
Fab food and atmosphere but the best bit was the staff and owners... I couldn't recommend it enough! The wine and real ale was top notch. And the children were made a fuss of.
I recommend the lamb shank and the belly pork.... amazing.
Thanks again from the Hutchinson's

Me and my boyfriend eat here last night, I had scampi and Karlos had ham egg and chips.
The food was amazing! So tasty and the scampi was so fresh.
My boyfriend said he'd never had such a plate full of food in his life!!
After we had eaten we enjoyed a game of pool, darts and then the pub quiz.
It was a wonderful evening in a lovely country pub.
If you want some good pub grub, then this is the place to go!

Lovely place, very friendly staff. Sat outside for a while in the last of the sunshine, but went back in and "regretted" it as the smell of the lovely food had me drooling!! Will have to come back for a meal as it looked/smelled delicious but we'd only called in for a drink!!

We just popped in on the off chance we might get a table. Despite being very busy, they did their best to squeeze us in and I'm so glad they did. I had a crab salad, my husband a steak, and the children both had lasagne. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyed and the children even cleared their plates (a first!). The hospitality was great and we were treated like old friends. Will definitely recommend.

Fantastic pub with a huge warm welcome. They are Dog friendly too and welcomed ours with open arms; spoiled her rotten too with treats. We had a meal there this evening which was absolutely delicious with Steak to die for according to my Husband. My Lasagne was equally lovely with gorgeous home-made chunky chips and probably the best I've tasted anywhere. Only one problem, don't live anywhere near here and just visiting while on holiday. Good excuse to come back though or just move to Scarborough ... Very highly recommended!

We came here as a party of 11 for Sunday lunch prior to the Tom Jones concert at the Open Air Theatre. We were met by lovely, pleasant staff and sat in the beautiful garden having drinks while our food order was taken and prepared. We were then escorted to an amazing room with a huge round table accommodating us all. The food was magnificent, the garden area and drinks were lovely and only surpassed by the lovely, warm greeting and service we received from the owner and his staff. A tremendous experience - congratulations xx
