We had just arrived in Scarborough for a mid week break and couldn't get in to our apartment at the time so we decided to go for a pint! We couldn't have found a more welcoming pub, the staff are wonderful so friendly, we were made to feel at home! We decided to have a meal as food is served from 4pm - 8pm and again it was superb, I had the Chicken Satay, with rice, peanut sauce & water melon salsa, the chicken was moist & the salsa took the edge off the spicy satay sauce, delicious! My husband had the mixed grill, wow that was a plate full! A large steak (cooked too perfection) a large gammon steak, mushrooms, onion rings, cherry toms cooked on the vine, & as they hadn't any black pudding, a chicken breast plus of course homemade chips! Then for desert I just had to have the Strawberry Eton Mess, yummy 😋 We are going back again that's for sure!!
We have eaten at the scarborough arms for 2 nights in a row. On the first night my son was wanting lasagna however this was only available on the adult menu. I asked if there was anyway they could do a child's portion of this bur this was not possible however the chef halved a adult portion so me and my son could have this and they only charged for 2 child's meals. My partner had he chicken curry and he loved it. Last night I had the scampi my partner had the gammon and my son had the chicken nuggets. I do have to say the chips was better on the first night compared to last night (they was crispier on the first night and we heard others say the same). We was a little upset that the only person to acknowledge that they recognised us was the young lady who brings the food to you and one of the ladies behind the bar did jot day anything when she will have known put faces this is why along with the chips the score is a 4 & not a 5. All being said we will definitely recommend
UPDATED;
Came tonight at the request of our son after it being too busy last night and it was spot on. They did a smaller portion of smetjig from the adult menu as it was what he really wanted and nothing was too much trouble hence the rating being changed up to a 5
Amazing pub / restaurant in Scarborough, very dog friendly, fantastic food, ended up eating here 2 nights in a row because the food was that good, can't recommend this place enough, such a lovely atmosphere, and very reasonably priced, situated close to the Castle & old town. Fantastic service.
Absolutely delicious! Our 1rst Sunday roast in Yorkshire for years... the best ever ! Go, it s a lovely place, nice and cosy. People were very kind to us. 🙂
Merci beaucoup 💖
Good food & atmosphere 👌 😋 warm hearty food. Will try out the home made soup 🍲 next time 😋
Absolutely fantastic meal. I can not say enough positive things about this place, from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere, to the price all five star. Four of us have had gorgeous Sunday lunch, pie, potatoes, vegetable and all the trimmings. All the food was cooked perfectly, it was tasty, hot and good portion size. Four of us had a main course, two puddings and four rounds of drinks total cost £130. This is the best meal we've had all weekend. I would definitely recommend booking a table and eating in this pub.
Lovely friendly and welcoming pub. Excellent food and service 👌
Amazing Pub/Restaurant in Scarborough. Been there once with friends. Never forget this place, very nice food, friendly staffs, lovely atmosphere overall! Can't recommend enough, such a nice place.
Simply amazing.
Great pub - Hadn't booked, staff were so welcoming and no trouble for us to stay for Sunday Lunch. A good choice of options, we had the beef, generous slices served with a healthy size Yorkshire, perfectly cooked vegetables, crispy potatoes and an extra pot of gravy on the side. Great atmosphere, perfect for big or small parties. Set us up for a day of sightseeing.
Amazing food, bar staff lovely relaxing atmosphere would highly recommend
We came here for an evening meal when we were staying in Scarborough this week. This place was friendly and the food was well cooked and a good variety to choose from. My husband had the cajun chicken and I had beef pie. A nice bottle of wine with it. The price was very reasonable and the atmosphere busy but friendly.
After a bit of research, and looking for a dog friendly place to eat, we decided on this pub. So good, we returned on 4 occasions. Very dog friendly, so much so, our dog could lead us there without us helping her!
The food was very fresh and delicious, with a great choice on the menu. The restaurant itself was very clean and immaculately presented.
Lovely staff too. All in all, a great wee find for our holiday.
