Amazing experience, from the minute you arrive until you unfortunately have to leave. This place just gets everything right, warm, welcoming, friendly, sublime food, beautiful decor, amazing rooms, we will definitely return we loved every single minute of our stay.

What can I say but 'perfection'. From the moment you arrive and are greeted in the lounge area in front of a roaring fire by Liz it's like a journey through a culinary wonderland. Firstly drinks and amuse b'ouche which were delectable. Then you are escorted to your table which is not cramped as only 7 tables are available each evening to experience this foodies heaven. Depending on which tasting menu you have decided on you then spend the next 3 to 4 hours eating the most delicious food accompanied by descriptions and explanations from Liz as well as plenty of fun and friendly chatter (unless you want to be left alone to eat in which case your wishes are catered for as is everything else). I don;t really want to go into detail and ruin the surprise of the dishes and hope the photos do them justice, but, just to say the tastes and flavours and contrasts were stunning. If a michelin star isn't forthcoming I don't know why as I have eaten in many restaurants and this ranks alongside the best of them. One final mention is to try the pairing drinks - perfectly paired and sometimes surprising, but, never dull this was the best pairing combination my wife had ever had. All I can say is 'BRAVO'

The staff here were lovely and the food was great, not faultless there were a couple of things we felt were amiss (reminded us of Sat Bains - but not Sat Bains perfection). Still would still highly recommend. Glad we tried.

Liz is an amazing host. The food was divine and I loved the atmosphere, being small and intimate. The room was perfect with the most comfortable bed ever. As expected, breakfast was great too.

We had the most amazing evening and night at The Hare. Thankyou. Thoughtful attention to detail very step of the way, including all the finishing touches in the rooms. The food was fabulous, and the wine paring made the whole experience for us, especially with Liz talking us through it all making it interesting as well as delicious. Recommend without hesitation. We will be back!

This is by far my best culinary experience I have had. This restaurant was exceptional and I loved everything about it. The staff was lovely and were open to a conversation. The look of the place was very warm and friendly. The food was the best I've had, and the price for a 7 meal taster course was amazing. The food they served was absolutely exquisite I loved every meal and wanted seconds every time. Although I'm usually a fussy eater I enjoyed everything even the little things I worried about. Overall it was a great evening and we were there for hours and once we left I wished for nothing but to return and go there again.

We recently celebrated our 25th Anniversary at the Hare Inn. We had the Taster Menu and were very impressed. The whole evening was a treat. The place has a nice welcoming country pub feel, with a small bar area and real fire. The service was excellent and obviously the food was of a very high standard. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for something a bit special. We are already considering our next visit.

We visited The Hare Restaurant recently and had the 8 course tasting menu. We had a lovely time. The service was excellent, and Liz was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was fantastic. Every course was superb, and the menu gave a great variety of dishes. We particularly enjoyed the 2-part mackerel course. Highly recommended. We'll certainly go back

This unassuming little coaching inn hides a true gem inside. A small and friendly staff were wonderfully accommodating, and simply could not do enough for us. My wife is currently pregnant, and so has certain dietary restrictions; when they were informed of this ahead of time, they created an entirely new menu just for her to replace the dishes she couldn't have. Each of these new dishes had clearly been well thought out and beautifully presented. There are a lot of places that would have just foregone the course entirely or given her a bit of a booby prize on a plate. Hats off to them for their consideration and hard work. We opted for the shorter tasting menu when we visited, but this was still a sitting of over two hours. Definitely recommended if you are not in a rush and want an experience. Each dish is beautifully presented, and each component has clearly been thought out in relation to the others. The flavours are absoutely precision engineered. There are theatrical elements of smoke and liquid nitrogen, but unlike some other restaurants, where the theatre is used to mask an otherwise average dish, here it adds a dimension to something that was already superb. At the end of the tasting menu, we felt satisfied but not stuffed- a balance which is often hard to reach! We have eaten at Michelin two starred restaurants that did not reach the finesse of this establishment. Absolutely recommended!
