High quality Indian food and always friendly service. The way the dishes are served looks good but is difficult to plate up with the heat of the bowls. Portions could also do with being a little better but always a nice reliable Indian option in seaham if you fancy a change from Samrat!

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight. I have been ordering from here for well over a year. Best food I've ever had from here tonight. I always order chicken madras. Spice was bang on and food was the most delicious you have ever provided. Hats off to the chef!!!

It was a 21st Birthday ...have been on 3 occasions and enjoyed everything I had to eat....in fact it was to much for me..so they gave ma a container to take the rest home.

Called in on a Monday evening (happy hour). I had garlic mushroom on puree for starters, lamb chilli tikka masala with mushroom pilau. My wife had onion bhaji with chicken dupiaza. Both were utterly delicious and the service was not just professional but very warm, friendly and chatty. The staff in the kitchen were obviously enjoying their shift too - we were sat near the kitchen. This isn't a criticism as happy staff produce great results - and Ashoka serves really nice food. This is our fourth time here - we aren't locals - and every time has been spot on.
Three pints of Cobra, a garlic naan plus the above = a bill for under £55. So add great value to the great food and great service - thank you for a great night at the Harbour.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Ashoka. The food was delicious and there were some dishes on the menu I hadn't seen before. Only feedback was that it wasn't as spicy as I expected. Waiters seemed pleasant and accomodating. Looking forward to going again soon.

Visited here a few times now and all occasions have been exceptional. My last visit made me write this post, as a nearby Italian restaurant let me down for a Christmas meal. Ashoka came to the rescue with a table as soon as i rang. Couldn't thank them enough, food is really amazing and a nice atmosphere for three young women. They even packed up my leftovers to take home :) would recommend!!

Been loads of times and never had a bad meal, however last night the service was really spot on. We were upstairs with only one other couple but never had to chase up a waiter. The lad was good craic and looked after us well, hence the good tip 👍

Fantastic! Recently had a meal in Ashoka and it was absolutely beautiful. Staff were very friendly and went out there way to make me 2 dishes which weren’t even on the menu. Food was superb, great atmosphere. Couldn’t fault it. Can’t wait for the next visit.

Fantastic food every time and the service is best ever. I started with lamb's liver, now as a cook myself I know how hard it is to cook liver perfect, but to do it in a tandoor is magic. I would Defo recommend this place.

Before I even write this I know some people are going to have their say which is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinions based on their own experiences.
Last night my nana and a large group went to Ashoka for a 60th birthday party. When they walked in down stairs was lovely and warm but as soon as they got up stairs it was freezing. To the point all of the guests were putting their coats back on and shaking while trying to enjoy their food.
When they informed the manager they were treated with nothing more than pure disrespect and told it was their fault, how can it even be possible that it was their fault? Now my nana alone has asthma and is in the 3rd stage of OCPD and can’t stand the cold on her chest, it makes it hard for her to breathe and start coughing and spluttering. She can’t even go to the shop along the street at this time of the year.
I am absolutely disgusted, the customer service was vulgar and I’m even more livid at the fact this was quite a large party, A 60th BIRTHDAY that had spent over £300 to be spoken to in the manner that they were!
